So I am coming to 40/100 on my planning stages of this project I am working on.
I need opinions on which software to use and why, it is a promotion forum I am working on so it must have these following things with the software.

* Bunch of modifications ~ easy to install and use.
* Nice designs and templates ~ easy on the eyes and simplicity.
* Easy to use User, Modification, Administration Control Panel.
* Updates most of the time.
* Good support.

I am going to ask you to fill in this template to help me out a little and possibly other members who may be interested.
Code:
[b]Forum Software Name & Link:[/b]
[b]Your thoughts about it?:[/b]
[b]Does it meet most of the requirements[/b]
[b]Can you give me a good resource board:[/b]
[b]Any other notes:[/b]

You may feel to suggest a paid host with it.

Thanks.

Search this forum. There is a thousand topics comparing software and frankly most people are tired of discussing it. Its been discussed/debated to death.

Any popular software meets your requirements. You should use whatever you are comfortable with and what you think is best.

Well so far I am going with MyBB but if I can stretch out for about £200 I will go for IP.Board or possibly vBulletin.

If your make a promotion forum use IPB or vBulletin because it is rare to see a promotion forum useing one of those two software.

Yes, if you can stretch out the money then why not? Even though phpbb has an almost unbeatable community in my opinion.

mybb is the best free one as per your need, phpbb can excel better but lacks in easy-ness

If you get a MyBB theme customized, it can really look good. So I would say MyBB

Posted with TouchBB on my iPod touch

I can edit a theme from MyBB and get a designer to work from there, I cannot stretch out the money for vBulletin/IPB, as much as I would love to but I am going with MyBB.

Good Choice.
With MyBB, you can get a designer to make it so that it looks similar to IPB or vBulletin.

If you are going to use MyBB I would recommend that you get a custom style.

As said I can edit themes but I will definitely get custom theme(s) from a designer that I am fond of.
