Hi All I am still in the process of building my forum although I am almost finished doing it now.
How do i get the major search engines such as google and yahoo and the many others there is to get their bots to visit my forum and hopefully to get my forum listed on their search results in order for me to gain more members ?

Post on other forums who always seem to have bots there and have your site link in your signature. That's what I did and googlebot seems to never leave the site because every time it can it gets hooked in from another 😀

Usually bots find you site anyway by finding you link on other sites where you posted it like here as the bots are on most of the day here so usually they will know about you site and be about to crawl it even before you submit it.

Well actually you want to be indexed, search engines have found me, but not many pages have been indexed. Not even my index page. Just the login page :/

The older your site is the more bots you'll get and the longer they'll stay around... that's the problem with starting a new website it's hard to get going but after a few months you'll find your search engine rank quickly increase
