These ideas are for http://admincommunity.com

Here we go... all thoughts are appreciated. Please reply to each idea individually with yes/no and a reason why. rep to anyone who does this.

*A blog team to keep the blog updated.
*A paid posting service... much like posting packages except people pay for posts.
*A traffic exchange program like EasyHits4U.
*Article writing services, which would result in an ''Article Writing Team'' 😛
*A collection of categorised free web templates... just to clarify this wouldn't result in any copyright infringement would it? And eventually maybe our own templates.
*More emphasis on Google/SEO.
*A section for Referral links.
*Forum software section.- has been added.
*Eventually, a move to offshore hosting to allow more discussion of w*rez, t*rrenting and Blackhat SEO.

I don't like your last idea. Pump in a few topics in there. I like how you've gone away from Promotion. Just throw in a lot more resources and guides.

Pump a few topics in where? As for you not liking it fair enough, I just think it's the only way to really give members true expression/freedom of speech.

As for the rest of my suggestions do you like them/think they're good ideas? 😛

*A blog team to keep the blog updated. Yes, but they would need to be creative)
*A paid posting service... much like posting packages except people pay for posts. Yes, although make them big and let the Package Team get some money out of it.
*A traffic exchange program like EasyHits4U. Maybe, not sure that it could work.
*Article writing services, which would result in an ''Article Writing Team'' 😛 Yes, we need something like this to shut newbs up and I love a good read.
*A collection of categorised free web templates... just to clarify this wouldn't result in any copyright infringement would it? And eventually maybe our own templates. Sounds good, but I would say sell some featured ones for money babyyy.
*More emphasis on Google/SEO. Yes.
*A section for Referral links. Maybe, but would it get used that much.
*Forum software section. Why not give it a try, something different.
*Eventually, a move to offshore hosting to allow more discussion of w*rez, t*rrenting and Blackhat SEO. No, offering warez is a bad idea, just doesn't come round to me.

Thanks for the feedback... I don't see the point in having premim web templates as I wouldn't be the one getting the money 😛

*A blog team to keep the blog updated.
If you have a blog then you must keep it updated. Something which should have been thought of upon creation. So, yes.

*A paid posting service... much like posting packages except people pay for posts.
Hm, it will definitely be a hard job, let alone quality. Abstain.

*A traffic exchange program like EasyHits4U.
Will it be a unique script? If not, then no. There are professionals in that industry. Let them do the work.

*Article writing services, which would result in an ''Article Writing Team'' 😛
If you want to proceed, you will probably need to pay people. Likewise above, there are professionals that do the job well.

*A collection of categorised free web templates... just to clarify this wouldn't result in any copyright infringement would it? And eventually maybe our own templates.
If its another site, then yes. Onsite then no as its leaking into other genres.

*More emphasis on Google/SEO.
Should have been there from the beginning, if you are a webmaster forum.

*A section for Referral links.
Could work out, but keep it as a subforum at first.

*Forum software section.
Again, should have been there from the start.

*Eventually, a move to offshore hosting to allow more discussion of w*rez, t*rrenting and Blackhat SEO.
This could also work. As long as the people know what they are doing and the consequences then its fine. I wouldn't spend too much time on this.

Good luck :great:

Pump in topics everywhere, but mainly the less popular forums. Forum Software/SEO are good options and I've seen you added them. Personally, they could be child forums (subforums) of the Admin forum. I'm sort of weary for paid posting, mainly because of the actual quality of the posts. You really have to make the kind of posts which will make a forum look good.

Oh, and I almost forgot. Since you have IPB 3, please, get Facebook Connect.

I will try and add it tonight, I also have a topic bookmark MOD that I'm going to install today as well. As for those sections, I haven't added any of them yet. 😛

Thanks for the feedback. I'll go through your comments for each suggestion I made.

1) Agreed.
2) Hmm, it's in the balance, it would need more staff first.
3) I was thinking of using TrafficDX in the future if I have the money, just to add an extra dimension to AC... I can't do scripts 😛
4) Well I wouldn't be paying people, the people requesting would pay the article writers.
5) Hmm, are you referring to the copyright infringement? I would have thought it was fine to post links to other people's styles and screenies.
6) Well we've recently switched our focus mainly to webmaster so that's why they weren't there in the first place.
7) Agreed, it will be a subforum if added.
8) Hmm, it probably will be added. 😛
9) Yeah, it would only appeal to a limited amount of people.

For number 5, I meant that there are people that specialize in these things. This could be a subforum, but I wouldn't dedicate too much time on it as its not greatly webmaster related.

For example: the default vBulletin can go a long way, as the site has achieved enough attention through SEO, not design. So really, big webmasters don't need that section, if you know what I mean.

A forum software section has been added and a social bookmark MOD has been added. Also Facebook Connect has been enabled.

@dotDavid: We aren't focusing just on forums, we are focusing on websites/blogs in equal measure as well. And really big webmasters will probably get a custom template or as you said, go for something a bit bland. Not everyone is a big webmaster though 😛

*A blog team to keep the blog updated.
I like this idea.

*A paid posting service... much like posting packages except people pay for posts.
It will probably decrease the amount of customers.

*A traffic exchange program like EasyHits4U.
Is it possible?

*Article writing services, which would result in an ''Article Writing Team'' 😛
Don't like this idea.

*A collection of categorised free web templates... just to clarify this wouldn't result in any copyright infringement would it? And eventually maybe our own templates.

Love this idea. Will forum themes be categorised?

*More emphasis on Google/SEO.
Is it already added?

*A section for Referral links.
Great idea!

*Eventually, a move to offshore hosting to allow more discussion of w*rez, t*rrenting and Blackhat SEO.
I don't like this idea.

Facebook Connect doesn't properly work. You sure your keys are right?

I've got it working now 🙂

I don't like this idea.

1) Free posting packages will be staying so I don't see how it will mean a decrease in customers, if anything it will mean an increase.

2) http://trafficdx.com, it's not going to happen for a while but is something worth considering in the future.

3) Why don't you like the idea of an article service?

4) I was thinking web templates rather then forum themes... but forum themes could be added as well and they might be categorised. It will be a big project though if it happens.

5) A Google section has not been added yet, no.

Add a CMP section and socialising section such as where members can discuss MSN, Facebook, Twitter, AIM et cetera.

Sorry but what does CMP stand for? I've Googled it but nothing came up which sounded like what you're on about.

Content Managing Platforms ~ blogging, suppose you could fit social networking under it.

Not going to add a section called that specifically as it's a confusing name, a section along those lines may be added though.

Well name it blogging. But you need to cover, blog's ofcourse, wiki's, et cetera, hope you get my vibe and good luck.
