Some Ideas..

I'm soon going to be bringing out a game website.

It will be where people can talk about games and and ask for help on them etc. I've bin trying to come up with some things that will get people to want to join but can't think of any good ideas.

Is it a good idea to do a game forum or is they a better kind of forum to make?
So any of you have any ideas on what to do to get people to want to join

If you're really into gaming and you have a good knowledge about it, then go for it. Although the gaming niche is already saturated with competition, it's still very well possible for brand new forums to become successful.

There's a lot of competition if you're trying to create a gaming site, I think they're the most common forums nowadays. You're better off just focusing on a particular game or game company like Nintendo or Playstation for example.

As for features, what kind of forum software are you looking at?

Thanks but I don't rely want to just aim at one thing. I'll be using phpbb3.
