Some moron keeps spamming my blog

How do you deal with a spammer who is obviously using some tool and many many many ips to spam your blog?

You could disallow links in comments or block that certain link from comments? You could also block certain words or phrases such as the sites name.

That would depend on what software you are using. If you are using Wordpress then there are settings in the comments area that let you disallow links. You could also install a plugin to help with the filtering. If you haven't already you should activate the Askimet spam stopping plugin.

Do you know that it's an actual person? I used to get around 5,000 spam comments from a thing on Wordpress called "track back". So I just deleted trackback.php and never got any more trackback spam ever again!

I know who it is because I searched his backlink and found a thread here of him advertising it.

I think he is using some tool to spam me with his links...

Another method would probably be to moderate all new comments from users who you don't trust.

Easiest way is to put all comments on moderation, you can delete all the spam with a couple of clicks
