Some tips

Hey Mates,

http://chatbam.com needs some tips on how to increase member count. We have plenty of active members, most have over 50 posts actually. I just need more members. I have promoted on every promotion forum on the list of promotion forums here and bump everyday, as well as a image link in my siggy on every forum I'm on and every review I got only had positives. So what am I doing wrong?

I know everyone says something like "your forum won't grow overnight" etc. but really, that is the case.

If you promote on the forums listed in that topic, you won't get anywhere. You basically get the same members on each forum, so you won't succeed that way. No one has in reality.

Almost every niche is hard to attract as there are established forums that do their job. Advertising in your signature is a good start, but how many of those "other" forums are you a well known member? The more known, the better chance of attracting that niche, as they trust you.

But for now, forums like FP are the wrong niche to be advertising on. FP are full of webmasters promoting their site (and many think FP will actually help them, though in the long run it won't) and so that's not what you want.

Your not doing anything wrong in that perspective, however your genre is quite a hard one to get active. My advice to you is to find a site filled with troubles teens and just get to know everyone there and see what they want from a teen help and advice forum. Good luck.

Exactly what Nathan said or you could try affiliating with other teen sites that are active, perhaps more will come, you just need to get the word across, try promoting everywhere possible, whether it is a food forum, to petrol head forums, ask admin's for permission to advertise, as I said you just need to get the word across.

Think of what every other teen forum offers, offer something that they don't, that Bored? idea was genius, you need to bribe in teens legally ofcourse by having more genius idea's and a competition wouldn't go wrong.
