I personally wouldn't use either of those. I'd spend my time looking at sources from tutorials on http://net.tutsplus.com/
That's where I learned PHP, W3Schools, and Tigzag, etc, only teach you the logic, you don't get the first hand experience, and you don't see how things work. I rather learn by taking apart existing code, then read a bunch of useless junk.
