It would seem that Github has acquired Spectrum, what one person who is on / used to be on (I can't keep track, people keep flip-flopping) the MyBB Team seems to think will be the future of online communities.

The source-code is up on Github. Anyone can download it.

It looks pretty nifty and is definitely going in the right direction.
It reminds me of a social media site, and I think that's good for a discussion software.

I won't jump on the bandwagon now, but would love to see more from them
