Just by looking at the home page you can tell the site is run by a group of teenagers who don't have a clue.

Firstly, you allegedly run the fastest Web Hosting company but can't build your own website? Instead the site is using a tacky flash design built with some online generator. Now some other things on the home page...firstly the news. Every single bit of news on the home page clearly demonstrates everyone there lacks the right kind of acumen or any kind of ability required to run a successful site. When somebody visits a Website the first thing they want is 1) Something that screams out what the site is about. 2) A site that is easy to navigate 3) Some decent content. When people visit speed hosting they're greeted by a giant pumpkin and a message from a half-arsed Webmaster who completely changed the site around to make it "VERY easy to edit". Nobody cares if the site is easy to edit or not! Moving on to the "SH Hacked" announcement you made very clear on the homepage...why advertise the fact you've been hacked? are you trying to lose customers? do you want to scare members off? Could you imagine if PayPal posted an announcement saying "yeah we got hacked, umm...people are gonna have access to all your personal information so yeah, sign up anyway". Quite frankly, making public the fact you lot were hacked is stupid. The status page, you mention in the announcement "Coded in HTML!" as if coding with HTML is difficult or something. Here's some news for you though, 182 million other websites are also coded in HTML. As for the "What do ya think?", I think the status page is crap - The colour balance doesn't work, you're using old HTML markup (<font>), it's not accessible (there's no way back to the main website) and it means the site lacks consistency, which just looks bad. Moving on to the last announcement "500 Posts", so what? You're meant to be a Web Hosting company and therefore should be more concerned with how many sites you're hosting. Nobody interested in hosting will be bothered about how many posts the support forum has.

The "About Us" page is slightly less vulgar. Although the cogs on the right hand side are a little stretched it's by far the most interesting thing on the page. The main body text looks like it was written by an 8 year old, such slang such as "Wanna become staff?" and "with our top-notch" staff, just doesn't go down well. In addition to that the second paragraph doesn't even make sense: "The mission of Speed Hosting is to provide good hosting for you to keep you and your members happy to forum and host websites!". Can somebody explain that to me? Is "forum" in this sentence supposed to be a verb? help?!

The solutions page is okay I guess (compared to what I've seen so far anyway). I'd suggest proof-reading the Website a few times though, as this is the second time I've stumbled across a sentence and not had a clue what it's meant to mean: "Just want to host that forum or website of your but don't have the money to pay or no time to post on our forum? "; did you mean to say "of your dreams" somewhere in there? I was also intrigued to find "Coming soon" under the Post to Host information, although when I clicked through to the order page it gave me the option to order post to host? So I'm asking myself, can you use post to host or not? On that note it's a nasty jump from your flash website to the order system. The order system looks about a thousand times better than the flash site, however if there's no consistency (which there isn't), it just looks crap and unprofessional.

Services page was also a let down. When you visit a host's services page you expect to see some sort of table, bullet points or a definition list showing what services they offer, a description and the price. Your services page shows nothing useful at all. Instead it's full of clichés and no information on what services you actually offer - with the exception of hosting.

Nothing to report re: the contact page, it's probably the most useful page on the site. However the Staff page is a completely different story. When I said the site looked like it was made by an 8 year old, turns out I wasn't that wrong. "Brandin Arsenault is 11 years of age", you have 11 year olds running a Web Hosting company? I'm sorry but it's almost insulting to turn up here expecting people to pay their hard earned money, or spend their precious free time posting on your forum when one of 3 staff members is aged just 11. Keaton, Forum Moderator - ages just 14. Fair enough I've seen 13 year olds turn out to be damn good forum staff, but for goodness sake guys - don't let the public know he's 14. Finally, TayneC8 - known spammer and general retard. Aged just 16, probably hasn't sat his GCSE exams yet, and is the main man on this little hosting game you guys seem to be playing. Listen, nobody and I literally mean nobody but a seriously confused mong is going to use your hosting. You're all unprofessional and don't really have a clue what you're doing.

Also consider adding more support links, or should I say add a single support link to the website. I couldn't find a way to the support forum at all and had to click on somebody's sig link here to get to the support forum. Now I'm there I can safely say it's as crap as the rest of the site. Again, no consistency between site and forum, the logo / banner is an eye-sore and it's hugely over-staffed.

The whole site is unprofessional, inconsistent, is full of poor grammar and stands no chance of ever being successful at its current rate.

The site makes me want to throw dirt in my eyes.

Now, where do I start off with? Let's see...

We can build our own website, I just don't have the time as I'm always adding upgrades to the forum. So what?; I used a damn site builder, who cares? We needed a website that the community liked (which they did) and something fast to do... 1) The website does scream out what we do by the message we have beside the pink arrow! 2) It is very easy to navigate through the website. 3) They are greeted by our lovely pumpkin because it is almost Halloween! We announced that because someone prickish did that. It will not happen again as all accounts are secured...

As said by Sbfc, you were owned. Looking at your site I think I agree with everything he said. I would never use a web host which is run by kids. Also your claims of being the "fastest" seem unfounded, especially since you do not provide real statistics on uptime and tables containing hosting plan information.

Oh really? You can't be bothered with learning HTML yourself and doing what almost every serious web designer has done? HTML is extremely easy to use (especially compared to many other languages) and in my opinion, if you cannot code your own website you should not run a hosting company. Coding your own website rather than using a website builder makes it look like you didn't just sit back in your chair and say "this hosting company makez teh moneyz so why can't I make a 10 minute host and makez teh moneyz too?" Before you expect anyone to pay you their money you need to look and be professional. Coding your own site makes you look more professional and makes it look more unique, rather than just a skin on your site builder. It is easier, but easier does not mean better.

TBH I agree with MHW. It does look bad teenagers running a hosting company but, its up to them what they do and I dont see why people dont just let Tayne and Shocked to get on with it.

You don't have enough time? Saying "I don't care" "I don't feel like it" and "so what?" are all really, really, bad excuses for not doing a good job. Most professional companies do not make sites via a site builder because it makes them look like a ten minute website. If you cannot spend the time to do a good job then I suggest you stay away from hosts, forum management, and the like. Something you made over the course of one to two minutes, or even ten to twenty minutes is almost exclusively beneath the par. If you want to compete with good hosts then you have to try really heard.

You are in an industry where there are hundreds of other companies who offer very similar services to yourself. You will not get any business, especially with paid services, if you do not put a lot of effort into your site. Comments the below are why I don't think I'd ever use your service.

You cannot run a company, website, or any sort of group with any sort of "idc sthu" attitude and expect respect from your customers. It will just collapse in front of you with your critiques laughing and your opponents leering. I suggest you deposit that "Just shut up, I don't have the time to put effort into what I do" and actually try to succeed. Success is not served to you on a silver platter, you have to run through a field of hot coals barefoot with knives being thrown at you to get to it. Just seeing that "site builder powered by ______" might turn off many of your members, seeing the age of your staff may turn off several more, and the announcement screaming out that you had been hacked would turn away the rest.

I am telling you this for the sake of your own success, not for anything else, really. If you ignore my, MHW, Sbfc, and several other people's advice then you will likely end up with a premature end, or at least will never challenge the industry's leaders. you should take all suggestions at face value. and as MHW said, so what if you have teenagers running the place, just don't announce it tot he world!

A true sign that you will fail, in the Hosting industry, everything must be perfect, to at least be able to compete with the opposition. Making 1 crappy page, which there are more than just 1, can easily turn a potential customer away, and with that attitude I am 100% sure you wont succeed.

I'll give you a little insight on something, usually when someone has been longer than you, they have a lot more experience, something you are desperately lacking, and desperately need, and no, old people are not gay, that is just a crap excuse, either way that is completely unprofessional saying you dont want "old gay people running the forum", you never know, there are many homosexuals, and old people for that matter, that are, have been, and will be more successful than you ever will be.

Thats a pretty bold statement, I tested this out, and pretty much for every 5 minutes, I had 1 minute of at least decent loading time, the rest I could not load my site, what does that say?

Some good points. Statements like "we have good uptime" have to be proven. An example is at http://novahost.org/ where you will notice they have their exact server uptime recorded on the right. also note that their plans are very well paid out and easy to find, something Speed Hosting lacks. Also note that they have statistics of this uptime if you click their uptime button. Claiming you have good uptime means nothing unless you prove it.

Did I say I know everything? In any case, I know enough to say that I don't want to make a host. One can know about war tactics without being a general, in fact Leonardo de Vinci loved studying the tactics of war even though he was a pacifist. He hated the killing part but loved the strategy just like some people enjoy football without playing it. Anyway, there is a lot of competition in that industry so even trying to get a host off the ground is very difficult.

So, in future, try to avoid straw man fallacies. I don't know everything — no one does — but I can assure you that me, MhW, and the many people who have been trying to tell you something which you have not been listening to know something.
