Some people can actually spell, and some people have to use Grammarly and pray (aka me). I cannot tell you why, but I've always sucked at spelling anything but my own name. However, some people seem to have the natural ability to spell more than their own name. Are you one of those blessed people? If you are, is there anything that you did to help this skill?

I don't have to use any kind of grammar or spell checker of any kind. While I may not be perfect, I can do without it 99% of the time.

Typing is different if you are doing allot of computerizing. It's so easy as it has an built in spell system in the OS. The other hand I'm very bad at grammar and writing things down. Yet I always had an learning disability.

I was always very poor in spelling and grammar, at least before I spent much time on forums. Other people being picky was quite beneficial.

You only use "an" before vowel sounds (each instance above that you've used it is incorrect). "Allot" also has a different meaning than I think you want here; you're looking for "a lot"

I dont use any spelling correction software or anything like that. What I do comes naturally. But naturally means with its fair share of mistakes too.

I don't like people replying or saying about my bad grammar. It puts me down.

Don't worry, you try your best and that's what matters. Don't let others put you down 🙂

Spelling & Grammar has always came naturally to me to, I make my share of mistakes but 90% of the time I'm alright.

Throughout elementary school and intermediate school my spelling was awful. It got better towards the end of middle school and by the time I was in high school I was much better.

Posting on forums and playing games online that had chat helped me really work on and improve my spelling.

I'm naturally pretty good at spelling and grammar without using any online tools/extensions, but I do spell check anything longer than a paragraph. I liked to read/write a lot when I was in school so that helped a lot with reinforcing spelling skills as well.

Occasionally, I would look up words on Google to find the correct spelling but I don't use any type of software or program to check my grammar or spelling. I think I am decent at spelling and grammar and even when I was writing essays back in the days I was in school, I still didn't use any softwares to check my spelling. Normally, when I go through my writing a few times, I pick up mistakes myself.

@Kronos, as long as you can spell your name, you're good! Spelling Jawn is easy! 😉

I've always been a pretty good speller, though I'll be the first to admit auto-correct is a life saver some times, until it has no idea what I'm trying to say and I was really only off one letter. Lol.

I guess I can spell. I know the difference between words that go in sentences and how to spell things like their there and they're and an and a in certain things. The only problem I have is comas. XD

What I was told in highschool, by a number of teachers (English teachers) and other people of importance, was that if you typed your sentences like how you naturally would take a breath, you would have less issues figuring out where commas would go, than trying to overly think typical sentence structure. With that, I managed to pass most of my essays, because of that tip. The other places you would put commas, would be in logical places, and with lists that you would include in the sentence itself.

I would say that my spelling and grammar are above average, but I am still learning new things constantly.

I just get scared I'll put commas where they're not supposed to go if I do that, though. I take breaths a lot anyways since I'm southern. XD
I bet you hate semicolons then; most people avoid them like the plague. =p
Oh my god, yes. I NEVER use those because they confuse me so much.

I use spell checker as my spelling is not the best
due to moving schools alot

To be honest, as a PTM, I'm going to be honest and say that my grammar is horrible. It is, I had problems with it when I was growing up and some of my sentences don't make sense at all. My spelling is great, it's just my grammar that is terrible.
