Staff Disagreements

Have you ever had disagreements with your staff?

Has it ever gotten ugly? Resulted in a resignation or firing?

I have had staff disagreements before that resulted in resignation/firing. Thankfully, though, none of those have happened recently. 🙂

I've come across a few when I was moderator at this forum. Admin wanted to change the whole topic of the site . I ultimately left.

Yes, I worked for an admin that didn't approve of me being active at another forum and fired me 🙁 I just stopped going to the forum, and now I forget the site link :lol:

I did. However, I try to make a good consensus, so we end up watering down my plans or my other admins' plans.

We had a pretty big one at Pokemon Meadow some time ago. It resulted into two staff members being banned and the staff being split into two opposing sides. It was pretty ugly.

No, thankfully. We always make our decisions as a team - if I have an idea that my staff don't like, I drop it.

I had an outing with a site owner/forum administrator and it resulted in my resignation.

I once when 50/50 with a friend on making a forums. He stopped splitting the hosting costs as we were paying around 20pound a month. I told him i had to kick him off and find someone else.

Ive had my share... Never gotten out of control though. Its good to express your different opinions once in a while. Nobody wants a "yes-man"

Me and my staff members(I'm the founder and admin of my forum) occasionally fight a bit, but we get over it..

So things are fine.

Very rarely we are pretty stable right now but ........... in the almost year I have been running I have had 2 staff members I have demoted for unacceptable behaviour towards a member they "personally" disliked.

Yes, I've had staff disagreements before, but in the end, my staff usually agrees with me, since I'm always right. 😛 Kidding.

I was not aware it was personal sbfc it was 3 rules breaks as I said to you, I can't do anything to a Moderator who is following the rules of that particular forum for me can I.

No, the moderator in question was deliberately changing the rules in the Forum Circle after I proved him wrong.

Not the place to argue about it here - all I can say to you is that the rules were changed after a vote by the staff and no other advertisers have broken them or had a problem with them.
