Staff Disputes?

How do you deal with staff that has a dispute with another staffer? Do you have any formal procedures?

I’ve never had any formal procedure. I can tell you though that sometimes it can get pretty hectic trying to keep the staff together when they are having a dispute.

The staff I have at my forum are almost 2 peas in a pod. I also have a community advisor that helps me make decisions because I am on the only admin and 100% funded by me. So major decisions I pass by him to get another take.

I need to get bigger in order to have more than me as Staff lol But I'd ask them to resolve it amongst themselves & if they cannot, I'd be the mediator to see if we can come to a conclusion. Even "agree to disagree".

Nope, not the time of running any sites I have not. I had to deal with them between me and them but not with any other staff. Most of the time I only had myself and one other person at a time. I have not had all three staff on at the same time

It's the same thing if there is a problem between two different members on a forum. If there are two staff members that are having a problem, I'll agree to listen to both sides of the issue before I made a decision. Then I'll make a decision after that. In the past when I had a co-admin, I would always include that person in the discussion.

I don't know if you can have a formal procedure on it. You want to do whatever you can to bring peace and retain both of your staff members, but your staff members should be able to work these conflicts out amongst themselves. I wouldn't get involved unless it was absolutely necessary. I try to be Switzerland as much as possible.

I would do a discord chat with both of them to simply clear things off - or if discord is not a thing, keep it as private as possible with the community so only both staff members and myself (owner) deal with that.
