When DOND loaded, I soon realized what it was. This was one of these forums started up at the very beginning, thus, they got a lot of members. The Administrators never choose to pick a good theme, or to be very active. Instead, once the board is established they prefer to load the site with advertisements and earn a fair bit of money from it. From the off, without scrolling down, I could see 4 different advertisements. This is the type of forum that I'd see and then immediately leave.

What is this? Oh yeah, it's a theme chose by the administrator at the very start that was never updated ever again. I don't even understand why you'd ever pick a theme like this, it's close to being 100% purple. There is hardly any padding between the forums and there are no gaps between the categories. It's just one chunk of color mashed together and published. The line of color that the category names sit on looks as if the theme creator has gone onto MS paint, and made a gradient line across, saved it as an image and then slapped it on.

The site statistics, something that I want to talk about. Sure, you may have 696579 posts, 21479 threads and 3432 registered members. But that doesn't really matter, because looking over at the latest post dates, most of the forums haven't been posted in for a while. Members won't want to join the forum because it is inactive. Almost having 700k posts doesn't mean that you no longer need to worry about the activity of the forum.

Final Remarks​

The type of forum I really hate, a forum that was made very early. It had a very bad theme picked out for it and the Administrator hasn't bothered to change it since. The Administrator is happy because the board was established and it enabled him/her to slap advertisements over the forum so he/she can earn money.​

Theme definitely needs to be changed. Could think of very few worse themes, to be frank (not to be mean or anything). Look for something with more contrast, that doesn't have a bright color as the table background.

You've got a lot of forum sections for DOND, which is a lot of sections for a single show. I'm not sure you can fill that many sections long term, so combine them if you can. Having a handful of forum sections total is fine for your activity level.

Very focused niche sites like this aren't easy, so stick with it. Good luck.

First off, the content is very good, 21000+ threads and almost 3500 members is superb, congratulations.

The theme is not superb or even good. I do not understand the white and the pink, they don't go together whatsoever. I'd definitely recommend getting a new theme.

Next, the ads are out of control. I went down to view your forum's post count and those 3 at the bottom are glaring... I understand you have to make money, but those ads don't look good at all.

I believe it's a very good fansite for DOND and with some work on the theme and reduce the ads, it could be a great forum. I wish you and DOND the best of luck in the future.

I recommend you change the theme. It looks like the default phpbb theme except purple not blue. My first impression was leaving thinking i clicked the wrong link. I suggest you change this it gives a bad impression. I really dont like the Forum Promotion theme but it has features to make up for it. And it is good enough to get users to register.

Also the name doesn't give away what the site does right away. (Ex. 'Forum Promotion' is a very good name) Thats another thing to keep in mind.

Sorry if you didn't like me comparing to forum promotion but if i compared to someone elses forum it would be would be considered advertising.

I found the lavender theme off-putting, as when I think Deal or No Deal I tend to think of the main colours. It might be worthwhile updating the theme to match the spirit of the game show:

8 ads on every page is excessive.

No that is the wrong version. It's the UK version which has red boxes and like a red logo.
