Hello. I am tried of forums failing.
Besides active promotion here and signature on forums,and posting, can you do anything else?
Or is it just the forum itself that has failed and you should give up? Do you need to stand out in some way? 😕

1. You are using ForuMotion so failing is inevitable.
2. No link in signature? How will you get the word out if there isn't a link there?
3. How many forums other than FP are you on?
4. Have you tried the services like banner ads etc.?
5. How old is your forum?

You don't fail until you give up Sparkza. The most important factor in a forum's success is that it offers real benefits to its members. Take some time out and think seriously about how your forum can give your members something useful and valued by them, that they can't easily find elsewhere.

I was not worried about my old sites or anything current I am doing.

I would disagree. Don't know if you realised but self hosting, or at least at a host where they provide a database, it can be much faster and convenient. Plus, self hosting etc. don't place forced ads and text links onto your forum. For every forum you make with Forumotion, they make money, and accumulated, they easily make about $10 million from Google Ads.

Oh, yeah, forumotion is free.
But I will check out other options because in comparative I must be sounding stupid right now.

Many self-hosting forums are in fact free. Chris runs a very good cPanel host himself.

It takes a LOT LOT LOT of work to grow a board up and keep it rolling. Daily work and for every triumph maybe 10 setbacks. The last thing you can do is give up.

My forum's activity has been stagnating and slowly slipping for the past 6 months or so, with a few spikes. But I haven't given up. When one thing fails, I fume for a little while and then Google up some other things to try or I ask around on places like this, then try it. You got nothing to lose...

The most important thing that you should be taking care is about the content. The content that you have in your forums always attracts more people. Then occurs discussions, which gives rise to popularity. The process would be a slow one but is sure to provide better results. This is the case that I have noticed may of cases. Select your content carefully such that you can have plenty of talks over it. This would be my suggestion to get your forums back on the track. Try it and see if it works out for you.

But you want to attract members, ie they started off as visitors. If a visitor sees your forum full of ads, it can lead to the assumption that when they join, they will have ads still. Forumotion may be free, but forumotion benefits from you.
