Started a new job last week

So lastweek I started a new job working at Hy-Vee (a grocery store). I work from 8am till about 2pm, then I go to a tutor for about an hour, then home. It's actually really fun to work at a grocery store. What I discovered they do for employees is, rather than assigning 1 certain job, each week we do something different. So lastweek I bagged groceries, this week I might work in the deli, or stock shelves (however, due to my shortness, I can't stock everything. )

I get the weekends off, but work everyday during the week.

I worked at a grocery store once. Weekends off are unheard of at a grocery store so that's pretty lucky. The one I worked at paid pretty well too. If you stayed there for four years you be earning around $22 an hour plus they give you stock in the company and whatnot. I left though because I couldn't get weekends off and they would have the days off apart from each other (such as monday and thursday off). They rotated so you never had the same days off. Plus they would always rearrange my hours. Like one day I would work 6am - 3pm and the next day I would be working 4pm to midnight. It was just too much of a hassle to work there... I only lasted a few weeks. 😛

I did work at Wal-Mart for four years, it was my 1st job. It paid less but there was stability (same two consecutive days off and same shift everyday). I wouldn't recommend working there though. Well if you want to survive on ramen noodles, then yeah. Its great!

Pretty good, thanks. I've met allot of interesting people that work there, a few of them are old middle school friends.
