Starting a new forum? Cartoon Based?

I have been wanting to start a cartoon forum.
For like Family Guy, Futurama, The Simpsons, The Cleveland Show, American Dad, South Park, and I guess some others.

Anyone interested in helping?
I need to come up with a name, and was hoping to hire a co-admin that can get a domain and or a vB license.

First of all I do't think your going the proper way to start a forum as you stated '& was hoping to hire a co-admin that can get a domain and or a vB license', doubt that anyone would fulfill this seeing as your asking for too much a domain is roughly about £1 or 1$, to about £10 or 10$, suppending if you want .info or .biz as you would probably like to have a .com to start out as your asking for a vB license also which can cost up to 85$ for a leased license or up to 160$ for a owned license which is overall rounding up to near enough £200 or 200$ which I find quite dear. I think if you and a friend both work on doing internet jobs or outside of the internet and earn money and put it on a PayPal account then that would probably be best as I doubt that anyone will do this for you. Try earning alot of respect around forums like big ones like these and possibly if your lucky they might give you something that I highly doubt but you could but worth a try.
Plus try brainstorming alot of idea's on to a sheet of paper and what you can offer which alot of cartoon forums can't like your online broadcast with you and your friends or staff basically acting like characters from other shows like the ones you mentioned above. I, myself can't think of any names as I have just came home from school and not in one of the best of moods for brainstorming but I really do wish you luck with your find and hopefully what I said can't make you re-think of what you are asking for.

I hate to say this, but I agree. VB licenses don't exactly come cheap these days, so like Lawson said, you are asking for a bit much, really. Otherwise, I would try his other tips and see what you can work out as far as making your forum unique. I'm also positive that there are a lot of cartoon forums out there, so unless you're willing to be totally dedicated, unique, all of that, it's probably not worth it.

Take advice from me, I run practically the biggest Futurama forum (one of the forums you listed) and I also ran a Simpsons forum too. They are incredibly hard to make successful as the 'niche' is small. I've seen so many Family Guy forums fail and I don't think a forum on all of them is going to be any different. It's all been done. By all means go ahead and try it for yourself but I'll tell you it won't be easy. You will, as you said, need a vB license and a great domain name. Good luck.

I really hate how people do this, you're basically mooching of other people, do you have any idea how much a VB license costs? Around $180, and a domain $10, that's almost $200 they spend on you, if you want to make a good forum, pay for things yourself and don't rely on other people.

You won't get anywhere when you just ask people to do things for you.

Don't start a forum and expect it to be successful overnight. Buying a domain name and a vB license doesn't guarantee success.

Also, a partner may help you out with running the site, but don't expect anybody to fork out $200 for you. :S

As for the niche, well, cartoons are popular so you'll probably get activity, but there are a lot of massive boards out there like Cloverfield's "Futurama Fan Forum" that you'll have to compete with, so be wary. But don't let the competition discourage you. There's always room for another forum.
