I am going to start a new host soon and I need ideas of software and plans. You will get 50FP for every idea I like.

Heres an idea... Make sure that you use a good host for your host and make sure that you use a good and effective live support system and ticket system. WHMCS has a good live support system so yeah.

VPS is a good start. Even if it's small, like 25 GBs or so it's always possible to upgrade when needed. cPanel and WHMCS or another notable billing system that's paid. Those are needed to start, and follow through with a hosting company.

Well the it looks like your stuck using thehostingtool. It's a huge turnoff but that is the only other software I am aware of.

There are others that are good as well, like AccountLabPlus, but it's still looked upon badly

I assume it's looked badly apon as it seems you're not putting any cash into the hosting company?

Yes it makes me think you are just a new person.

I am experienced with hosts just that I want everything to be right. Maybe I'll use thehostingtool but when I get a lot of money from the hosting, I'll upgrade.

That is what everybody says, the starting with the free software will destroy your reputation especially since you can not manage upgrades and such with the admin panel. You basically have to log in to the whm to change the packages.

Kinda sucks.

Well update everyone. We are getting a custom theme so we may make it look like its not on THT.

Hey.

This may sound a bit like promoting. 😛 But I would like to suggest a VPS Reseller. 🙂 By reselling VPS servers, you can be more powerful in the industry. You could even run WHM/cPanel on a seperate VPS for yourself.

And if you're going to start on an extremely low budget, COS is running a great sale on resellers.

Good Luck. 🙂

Hmm, thanks a lot. When the business goes good, I will definitely think about switching to yours.

Great. 🙂

Well in that case, I'll suggest that you keep backups for your clients, even if it has to be on your local host. 🙂 It's not only a piece of mind for your clients but for yourself too. Good Luck. 😀 And if you have any questions about running a host feel free to ask me.
