I need ideas for starting a nintendo forum.
What would you like to see in a Nintendo Forum?
Any Name Suggestions?
Skin Colors?
Software preferences? We will be using Jcink anyways 😛

Anything else?

I am dying for new ideas.

My opinion? Don't even try. There are too many in that niche. However, if you really want to, there is nothing from stopping you.

I have expirience in the niche, and has almost always failed.
Started off good but then went down hill.

So then why try again? No offense intended, but if it failed before, it's bound to fail again unless you figured out what you were doing wrong.

Create a forum for a specific Nintendo game or franchise. That genre is way too hard to compete in and it's pretty easy to lose interest. I had one well after I had lost interest and luckily sold it in the nick of time. Made over $400 but the site died pretty shortly after.

The genre is just way too big and well established. It is just too much work for a longshot.

Umm... 3
You don't even know me.
Your forum has been offline for what a month? And you missed your opening date by a month.
So please, don't post in this thread unless you have something to contribute.

In the last week or so I have seen 2 Nintendo forums advertised. That's just here. I wouldn't even bother. You'd be wasting your time.

Well I have time to waste.
I have been told to take a chance.
Who knows, what uniqueness is to come.

If you have something "different" then go for it. If you have something unique then any forum can be a success however large the number of competitors there are.

Unique like what? It's not a promotion forum where yo can think up new services. It is very hard to make a forum unique to others when it's just sections and posts.

If you're really into making this forum then read the next few lines closely.

1. Make sure you really have the time and dedication to put into the forum. If you want to make a new and creative Nintendo forum then you're going to have to put everything that you've got into it.

2. Since there's already a LOT of Nintendo forums out there you have to be real creative. If you aren't a creative person then there's no point in trying.

3. Hosting & a domain. Make sure you're on either a free cPanel host or a paid host. Nobody wants to join a Forumotion or FreeForums forum.

A forum based on Nintendo has been saturated far too much with failures and competition. I'd suggest avoiding it unless you want to prove myself right.

Nothing. I was over nintendo like 10 years ago. 😛

Any Name Suggestions?
Nintendoverse 😛

Skin Colors?
For some reason the color red reminds me of nintendo.. Probably thinking of their original logo..

Dont use remotely hosted forums.. Host it yourself.

Anything else?
nope

What would you like to see in a Nintendo Forum?
Quick, fast updates on the latest games. Reviews on games before release (so that means you have to get the game before anyone else), gaming offers and a large community.

Any Name Suggestions?
NintendoStream.com

Skin Colors?
Red and White.

Software preferences?
IPB.

Anything else?
If ideas and suggested name is used, I would like credit for it.

All in all, I probably wouldn't start a Nintendo forum. You have way too much competition and the niche is already established. Why would someone on the largest Nintendo forum, running on a dedicated server with reliable qualities, join your forum, the newest forum out of the millions?

Only advice I have is try to offer something that the other established Nintendo sites don't. Most of them are targeting the casual audience such as kids, so try and go with something more hadcore and less kiddie (blue colors and smiling mushrooms/fire-flowers all over the site) 😛

A lot of people are saying there's already too many sites.. there are, but that doesn't mean you don't stand a chance. Most of them don't offer much anyway and I've yet to come across a Nintendo site that represents all Nintendo's franchises equally.
