Someone got ahold of my static IP... he said that he will be sending me a ddos soon if I don't do what he says... how can I change my static IP?

Well, he sent me my static IP and it was right so... i'm sorta afraid of him actually ddos'ing me, he's ddos'd other people.

-- 21 Sep 2011, 17:50 --

Omg... I need to figure out how to change it NOW! Does anyone know how to check your gateway IP??? I know how to change it now but I don't know my gateway IP...

Is this for your website or internet service provider?

I think it is possible to block IP with a firewall, and your web hosting company should be good at detecting a DDOS, and blocking it, or temporarily moving your website to a faster server.

Internet service provider... he said he has a 440 shell booter and if I do not do what he says then he will DDOS me... and it's impossible for me to do what he wants...

-.- This is just some random kid telling you that he is going to DDOS you.

Anyways go to "Run" then type "cmd" then in Command Prompt, type "ipconfig"

Well, he actually does have my static IP... sent it to me in a message on a forum... surprisingly... he was not lying, I just got ddos'd for about 5 mins but my internet provider quickly switched us, which was also a surprise. >.>

It's easy to get someone's static IP. It's another thing entirely to actually do something with it.

If you are really concerned, you can change your router's MAC address, and that will change your IP. You can PM me for instructions if you like. 🙂

The best way to solve this is switch to a dynamic ip. The only good use for a static ip is for a server or something similar.

Why not just report your problem to the police by saying he is making threats to you via the internet with a DDOS?

He would get a visit from the police, and might get arrested + his computer confiscated, and your problem will be solve.

Are you kidding me? They would just record the issue and if he commits it again, then they MAY pay a visit to him.

They normally will not arrest you or take your computer unless you hacking some major websites and causing trouble to people.

This is just what I was thinking when I read froggyboy's post. Whoever did this would probably just get a warning the first couple times. Not sure what the consequences would be after that since as Mr. Breezy said, it's not like the person is hacking a forum or a business Website of some sort.
