If anyone watched the Steelers @ Dolphins game this week, they saw one of the worst calls of all time.

Ben Roethlisberger fumbled in the endzone and the Dolphins recovered it. Unfortunately, the ref ruled that it wasn't clear that the Miami player recovered the ball, so the Steelers kept the ball and one.

How was that not obvious?

The rules are rules. There wasn't clear video evidence that the Dolphins had recovered the ball.

Yes, it complied with the rules, but clearly, the Dolphins recovered, and that should of been the game. This will cause a slight change in the NFL rulebook.

It was very clear. Two Dolphins fell on the ball and one of the two that fell on it came up with the ball.

Yeah, they had horrible angles of the play when they reviewed it though. 😛

I didn't see the game, I was stuck watching the Bears/Redskins game. (Lame) But from what I've seen, it must not have been obvious who recovered it, and besides the play was over for all intent and purposes once the initial ruling was made. That being a touchdown. It's just like whistling a play dead. I really don't see what all the ruckus is about. It doesn't seem to me that it is that controversial.

But of course, I am biased.

It was nothing like whistling the play dead because at first the refs weren't quick to signal a touchdown, so no whistles were blown.

As a Raven's fan it doesn't bother me. Yes that wasn't a touchdown, and yes Flacco by all intents and purposes threw an interception in the endzone that could have killed their chances. But the rules are the rules.

Sometimes the breaks go one way, sometimes they go the other. Nothing worth getting upset over, not like you're out there playing the game... it's just entertainment.
