What with so many people having the latest technology to access the internet and what not now, I think stereotyping isn't quite as daft as it used to be ...

But I remember years back some holiday makers I met were surprised us Scots didn't all wander around with a kilt on and live up a mountain shouting ' Och aye the Noo ' while scoffing haggis and being pole-axed on a bottle of Whiskey

I've been guilty of stereotyping myself in the past though...as I was approaching my twenties not too long ago ( ) I was surprised to learn that some Islamic countries had their share of Christians & churches!

In what way did you ever stereotype?

I try not to but I believe it's only human nature to do so. I for one am from the midwest (Middle of the USA) many people tend to think we're all farmers and talk with a southern accent. This is not true and believe it or not many of us from here have a pretty neutral accent. ;]

Your quite right , it is human nature as are anger, jealousy, fear etc...

So you have a horse and a big pair of boots then?😉

I agree that it's just something that's in our nature.

I've personally had to deal with stereotyping a lot being an Asian American.

I actually wrote an essay about it this semester in my English class. >.<

I'm from Canada. I live in an igloo and ride a polar bear to school everyday.

Was that you I passed when I was out with the sleigh & huskies the other day then?😉

I think with internet access being so readily available, people are seeing that people from other areas of the world aren't so different after all, and I think that's partly why stereotyping is dying. We also live in pretty liberal times, and I think people are also trying to watch what they say as well.

True, I have worked with people all over the world and have had clients all over the world. Was always friendly and never had a problem :]
