For the "Sponsor" text, woud you be able to use a different color other than red? I think it'd stand out more if it wasn't the same color as the "FOTM" text.

It can be a different colour although that is something that is based on personal opinion. It needs to be a colour to separate it it and make it stand out. The FOTM is only in the basic promotion forum and not all the others. We have many attributes over all the forums that take up nearly every colour so it is nearly always going to clash with one attribute or another. That is something that can be changed on request.

I am interested, but we should be allowed to make deals, ie. $15 for a month or two, otherwise, I would back away. If something like that could be made, I'll be interested.

I would support something like this. 5 bucks isn't really that much, but 5 bucks a week can add up. Long term deals similar to the two week deal sound like a fairly attractive idea, as it would prevent the prices from piling up into a fairly large cost.

Don't complain about the prices. This service is mainly for online businesses or services, who consider the small payment an investment. It is cheaper than a domain, and you have the potential to make money with this.

I felt it was a pretty worthwhile investment, as I made some profit.

Wow some people are just cheap here. I remember when i had the banner over the forum section.. While it was there I have gotten a lot of traffic from it. And this was a long time ago. Time has passed by and the traffic has increased. If you want to make your site bigger and better, time is money.!

Yeah but a sticky ad on FP is ineffective and doesn't really produce an increase in traffic, or an increase in new members.

It is up to users to decide really. Each users have different opinions on it. I have heard some good things from the people that have had sticky adverts here. It is something that everybody will see different results for and will have different opinions on.

The people who have used the service have been complimentary of it, saying that it has increased their activity and been profitable for them. Members who have used it once, have been back to order it again.

I don't know why you would criticise an FP ad slot, when you don't have the facts and there is clear evidence that what you are saying is not true.

They may be effective for business orientated websites & forums... though I doubt many people have got active members directly through the service.

It might have worked for the first forum owner but then the novelty wore off and they have become less effective over time.

Only just saw this.

I clearly said that for websites that offer a paid service, it may be a good idea... though I maintain my view that for forum/website owners not trying to make revenue, it's unlikely to do much. I didn't get any new members as a result of winning FOTM and being stickied for a month and my views didn't increase as Cosmic already proved in this thread.

I guess we're going to have to agree to disagree... :shrug:

I just heard about this and will be looking into getting it. I don't run a forum that sells anything it is instead just a forum/news service about sport so should be interesting to compare between forums who sell something to forums that dont.
