Google is now so successful that it seems almost unfathomable that another company in its industry could beat it. I remember a time when Google was not yet as popular and Yahoo was still relatively equal to it in terms of popularity and efficiency. Nowadays, however, it seems like it is already impossible and Google is already too well structured and too far ahead that it seems so unlikely that Yahoo or Bing could ever catch up. Do you think if Yahoo or Bing fixed their structures and provided a lot better searches, that they could ever catch up or even surpass Google? Why or why not?

I believe that a company could overtake Google some day. However, I don't think it will be Yahoo or Bing. My opinion is that it will be something new, perhaps something currently being worked in in a developer's bedroom or garage.
Google also faces a challenge from sites that don't appear to compete with them directly. For example, lots of people now visit a site they need through FaceBook.

Fergal is definitely on the right track. Most people have already heard of Yahoo or Bing, and they probably wouldn't be willing to give them another chance. Yet, something new could definitely spark some interest. One thing is for sure, Google is a huge beast to overtake.
Bing could possibly beat Google if Microsoft continues to advertise it along with their services but still, I don't think anyone can beat Google 🙂
Yahoo is dead in my opinion. Don't know why people should visit their website. The only good thing that is related to Yahoo is Yahoo Answers 😀
