If my new forum or website has under 20 posts, but "all" the posts are high quality and unique can I still get a lot of traffic from search by building backlinks, and SEO?

I keep reading on blogs that web masters need to write a lot of posts to get more traffic from search, but if you have a few very good posts can you get more traffic or as much traffic then a forum or website with a lot of posts which are poor to average quality content, but has more daily activity then your website.

Plus, some website categories like door frames might not have as much content to write about without going off topic, and posting posts not related to the website's category, so it may be hard posting daily content about door frames.

You have to think of what you are trying to achieve. Content about door frames are limited. So using a forum wouldn't be a good idea. Using a blog would. You can post your 20 articles. Let the crawlers do the rest. If they are high quality and unique, it will do well. Yet for a forum with only 20 posts, it wouldn't seem active enough and would really seem like overkill to me.

Ultimately the content and the back-links will help you, but you could do so much more with a forum a little busier than that, especially if you're doing it for ad revenue. The niche is very small, and also depends on who is searching for that specific content. That right there will be your biggest inhibitor.

Well, the more posts... the more a bot will check it out and as well as a person. The more posts you have could influence other members to join your forum, as they may find you interesting because of the posts you made and think you might have a cool forum too.
