Don't open your forum if you have empty forums. You need to have several topics in each forum, not counting rules or similar topics. New members don't want to make tons of threads, so you need to.

Don't open your forum if you don't have a custom banner. If you aren't savvy with graphics, request one here.

Don't open your forum if you don't have a full staff team. If you plan on running it yourself, go for it.

Don't open your forum unless you absolutely possitively are dedicate to your forum in the long run. If you quit, you and your members will hate you for wasting everyone's time and effort.

Geez, pretty negative. 😛

It would be more helpful if they were like: Open your forum when your forums have posts in them; open your forum when you have a custom banner; open your forum when you are enough staff; and open your forum when you know you're 100% dedicated. Or something along the lines of optimism, rather than "dont'", "don't", "don't" 🙂

Apart from that, genuinely good tips for people looking to creating a forum 🙂
