I made a forum called "The UnXplained" , and customized the banner and template according to my needs . But there's a strange problem that I am facing with the forum . If I type in www.theunxplained.co.cc , the customized forum opens up . But if I type theunxplained.co.cc (without the www) , then the unmodified actual theme comes up .
I cleared my browser cache and cookies . But still I have the same problem .
EDIT : I opened up after an hour and I found out that my customization is all lost ! No effect has taken place . I dont undetstand what's happening . Is my style not updating ? I tried everything , clearing cache of templates , themes . Is this a problem with the host ? Someone please help me out here .
I think that might be why you don't see any changes now. I am guessing you edited your templates via the acp. If so, then depending on your settings, these changes are stored in the database and when you refresh the templates via the acp it deletes all the templates in the database and you lose the edits and it takes the contents from the files on the file system.
You need to ensure that you go into your acp ---> styles ---> templates ----> details then select filesystem. Do the same for themes aswell. If phpBB can write to the template files then any changes you make will be made to the actual style file on the server. If it can't write the files then it will continue to save the templates in the db but then if you refresh the template, it will get the unedited file from the filesystem again.
But I changed the files manually after downloading them from the CPanel . After modifying I uploaded them back to my CPanel . Now , I see that the modified files , logos are already in the Cpanel but the effect has not taken place on the forum . This is really strange .
EDIT : I uploaded the whole style , changed it again . Now it's working . Let's see if the style remains or reverts back to the original one .
By the way , can anyone see the new logo with the writing ? Or is it the same "Site Logo" written ?
