My 400$ laptop's enter key is not working at all. When I hit enter, it doesn't process the Enter Key! My laptop is a dell inspiron mini 10 and has windows 7 on it. UPDATE: Now the enter key's structure is not doing so well, a piece probably broke off. This laptop is only 3 months old and I have a 1 year warrenty.

Have you tried popping the key out and popping it back in place? I had to do that on my netbook's keyboard a couple days ago.

If you've got a warranty I'd probably send it in if I were you since it looks like a defect in the model, not the software. Wouldn't mess with it since some warranties are voided when you do that.

I agree with gimgak, I suggest you put it back in the box, and first thing tomorrow go to your nearest dell store and tell them your ptoblem. Dont fiddle with it or els it might void your warrenty.

Alright, well ill see if I can find a USB keyboard since mine doesn't support old keyboards, any solutions that may help? I fixed the structure of the keyboard with a small tape.

Problem NOT solved. You are just ignoring the fact that something could be wrong with your computer. I have had something similar happen to my SHIFT key, and it kept on randomly happening. I took it to a computer store, and had it fixed up. My key never did it again. Take precautions; Get it checked out.

Well next time I see it not working, I will immediately send it to repair. Its probably because my keyboard overheated since I left my laptop on for about 16 hours.

It still is a good idea, this is like not being able to walk for a day, waking up and being able to walk. It may be worse - even unfixable if you wait until it does it again. Something is foreboding to happen.

Like I said, I will send my laptop immediately to dell if I see something unusual. Im writing down what strange things that happened to my laptop recently. Im also saving up 400$ in case i need to replace it.
