Well, I watched the finale and meh. It was predictable. I learned nothing new that I didn't already think up ahead of time on my own from the clues given.
I would have preferred that at the end, years later, that Finn finds his way to the 3 waterfalls...and there is El waiting for him.
Honestly I liked the finale much better than the episode we got on Christmas Eve. It was a decent ending, but I also thought there were lots of plot holes that never went anywhere. Also what happened to Dustin's girlfriend? They shown her again in flashbacks during the credits, but I guess they just stopped talking to each other after Eddie's death. I also wish they did more with Barb's character too.I would have loved that ending too! They always talked about finding a spot with three waterfalls and they could live happily ever after. I feel bad for Mike, he got the worst ending I think. It's bittersweet though.
From the little I've seen I would say that the Government probably prevented them from being able to talk.Honestly I liked the finale much better than the episode we got on Christmas Eve. That's another plot point I have been thinking about. Surely the government wouldn't have had them just walk away after killing soldiers right? Lol the writers were asked to address a few plot holes and this one came up. I think they basically said "Since they think El is dead there's no reason for them to be in Hawkins anymore." I guess they just wanted to keep things hush hush since this was crazy stuff going on. I know I'm overthinking things since it's not real but meh lol. From the little I've seen I would say that the Government probably prevented them from being able to talk.

I would kinda think regardless of El being there or not, they'd still have plenty of reason to be around. That's another plot point I have been thinking about. Some orders are meant to be ignored and soldiers do have the right to disobey. It's also possible that the soldiers have a heart and couldn't kill the children. They couldn't give them due process because then their secrets would be public.
