In a relationship with a stubborn partner, is it better to ignore them or end the relationship?

It all depends on what they are being stubborn about? If they are being forced into something they really don't feel comfortable doing then that's different to being just pure selfish and stubborn over everything....if it's the later then dump is on the cards. Relationships are about give and take 😉

My GF is stubborn as, but I wouldn't want her any other way.

Talking is almost useless unless I make the compromise. However, I'm at the point where there is no more compromising from me because I have more to lose and more at risk. Self preservation is the first law nature even in a relationship.

If they're trying to change you, don't let them. Relationships aren't any good if she can't accept you for who you are.

Give and take: how do you get that across to a 20-year-old?

By the age of 20 I would expect the person to understand the meaning of give and take, it's all about meeting each other half way. If you have to compromise then so should she. If you give in regularly and she takes then she should do the same for you and you take from her too? A relationship is about far more than just physical attraction, if you are always too soft she will forever treat you as such. 😉
