Sub domain or website path?

Which do you prefer subdomain or a website path?

A sub domain is page.example.com and a path is example.com/path

I prefer using subdomains for bigger pages not really related to my main page like a arcade. arcade.example.com

I prefer to uses paths for forums like example.com/forum

But, I find sub domains easier to remember.

I have my forum/site located at the domain name. name.com I would have it installed at name.com 😉

I dislike subdomains and will try and use paths rather than subdomains as paths work the same.

Im more used to whatever.com/whatever than whatever.whatever.com

doesn't really matter except I like forums.whatever.whaterver rather than whatever.whatever/forums

Subdomains are good for separating specific major parts of your website. For instance, if you provide your overall site at www.*.com, and then you have a blog at blog.*.com or hosting at hosting.*.com. I would use a path for things like sub features of the main thing. So if it's a hosting thing, I would do hosting.*.com/order or something. 🙂

i use sub-domains for blogs or forums from the main page and i use paths for links photoes etc. directories sort of

cause sub-domains look more professional 🙂
