It would also be a good idea to set up a webmasters-tools account @ google:
http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools

here you can upload a sitemap, track what keywords your website is searched and found on (once indexed).

On a forum a sitemap is quite useless. Google can easily find the topic and every time there is a new post the sitemap will get even more out of date.
