Any suggestions?

Any theme suggestions will be rejected. ๐Ÿ˜› We're planning into major editing the current theme and making it fully customized! ๐Ÿ™‚ Make anything to improve the forum and such.. any mods, forums need to be added or taken away, etc.

I am offering 100FP for each good suggestion for my forum! If the suggestion is repeated or something I already have on my forum you won't get anything.

Re: Suggestions

Maybe try making the box wider? It makes your content area look small. Also, you have more general sections than actual admin areas.

What box are you talking about the theme? ๐Ÿ˜› Also what kind of new things should we add to the Admin HQ section that you think that would help improve it.. Like..

Board Name:
Board Description:

Re: Suggestions

An all-new, wider theme would work. Be sure to pick something that resembles the default phpBB theme a bit less.

Re: Suggestions

Theme seems too basic. I like the logo, but the board isn't too attractive.

Like I said in the first post. We are customizing the theme little by little. Its a slow process on the theme. But once it is all done it will look great! ๐Ÿ˜€

Also edited the first post all please read!

Switch to mybb, get a better theme. Add a category where you discuss different forum software.

You can talk about forum software @ http://adminnetwork.org/viewforum.php?f=27 Also I don't want to switch to mybb I like to use phpbb for adminnetwork for now. ๐Ÿ™‚ I notice alot of your posts you suggest everyones forum to switch to mybb. ๐Ÿ˜› Not everyone likes mybb you know.

First, I would like to say I think the style you are using is magnificent. As for suggestions, you should add a picture next to the Welcome Box. Also I think you should get rid of the time thing in the Welcome Box because it is not going to in the same Time Zone as every guest. Maybe add a sentence or two about why a person should join the forum instead of telling us the time in what every Time Zone you set it on?

About the welcome box mod. Well..

The part where a image should be is for users it shows your avatar.. I don't think I can edit/remove the time. Because it didn't come with controls like some other mods sadly ๐Ÿ™ So I can't edit it pretty much..

Honestly, I'll start of with the pros.
The theme is very good, so is the banner, could have been worked on but I like it. Also the welcome box where it says Good Morning, Good Night, et cetera, is a turn off for me as it shows afternoon when it is night here, so guests may think your un-organized.
You have a good stable community.
Now for the cons.
You don't offer much administration discussion, I would expect a whole range of discussion on user & admin discussion, hosting, domains software discussion, graphic and design, coding and web-development and what not, from which I see you offer more of an advertising network other than admin network.
Honestly, in the Community Section you discuss more there than the actual admin main based category, you should be posting at least five topics a day in the main board. Site activity levels seem to be kind of low, only to see 6 users visited over a certain period of time is bad to represent your forum to new comers, advertise more.

These are more tips than general mind-mapping.

Thanks I might make some new threads then right away. ๐Ÿ™‚ Also so new sections under the admin discussion since itself only can discuss a few things administatively. ๐Ÿ˜› Also about the welcome box and time thing I don't know if I can change that without infecting the mod to cause alot of errors. ๐Ÿ™

Are you on Advanced hosting? Cause if you are, I'd suggest removing the ads if that's at all possible, because the ads are just downright annoying. Unless that's another site I'm thinking of, but I thought you guys had like random ads all over the place.

What kind of ads? We're on hawkhost. ๐Ÿ˜› Only ads is ontop of the forum in small text that well sell to keep up the forum..

Oh wait never mind you mean the google adsense above and very below the posts.. Well they are just there for people to click to give me some money from google. ๐Ÿ˜›

Oh yeah, I forgot about Adblock for FireFox! *Facepalm*. Now I know I'm out of it.

I always prefer that your main topic content be on top, in your case that would be the category "AdminHQ". Feedback, announcements, etc should be placed at the bottom. When a guest logs onto your site, 9/10 times they won't be interested in your announcements or feedback. You need to lure them with your main content.

//2 cents

Thanks for the suggestion! I might consider doing that in the near future.

The off-topic section has as much forums as the administration forums, and it seems irrational seeing it's an advertising/resource board. Maybe try broadening your forum criteria by adding some more discussions (something forum-making-related like graphics, web design, etc). If you don't change that then it'll always look like a new forum. Your Staff Searcher, Promotion Tips, Your News forums are inside 'Website Showcase' and like I said you should broaden your criteria so take it out of there and put it in a category instead of in a subforum ๐Ÿ˜‰

you're doing fine ๐Ÿ˜€
