I have recently acquired ForumAdvertiser.com from theezy, and plan on remaking it. This will be a promotion forum starting from scratch, as I do not have access to the old FA database.

Yes, I understand there's heaps of promotion forum competition here and there, but I plan on surpassing the majority of them, and eventually I'd like to get FA bigger than it used to be. I'm willing to inject quite a bit of money into this venture. I'm also going to be selling off a lot of my current sites in order to help fund and support this.

Though I already have some great ideas in my own mind, I would like some suggestions and ideas from other members.

What do you look for in a promotion forum?
What does a promotion forum need?
phpBB (with custom theme) or vB?
What would it take for you to join the upcoming ForumAdvertiser.com?

What do you look for in a promotion forum? An active community and friendly. i know it would be new, but I'm just saying.

What does a promotion forum need? it needs a spot to advertise and sell comments/threads for topics as well as forums. Other than that, the normal stuff: exchanges, packages, reviews, etc.

phpBB (with custom theme) or vB? I would go with vB

What would it take for you to join the upcoming ForumAdvertiser.com? Not much, because my main goal is to promote my site which is what the site would do 😛

Hope i helped

What do you look for in a promotion forum?

A domain, a decent admin and decent activity levels... also efficient services and friendly staff.

What does a promotion forum need?

Good, unique services, fast service, dedicated, friendly staff and a decent community feel.

phpBB (with custom theme) or vB?

IPB3 preferably but out of those two phpBB3.

What would it take for you to join the upcoming ForumAdvertiser.com?

Not much providing the site has a lot of potential and is active.

My suggestion is that you get the .net and .org so you can have total dominance over the domain names. 😀

What do you look for in a promotion forum?
What I look for in most forums and more. I look for activity, nice staff, maximum content (preferably a SEO/SERPs guide or three. 😛), a community not made of exchanges, and active staff.
What does a promotion forum need? Read above.
phpBB (with custom theme) or vB? vB for sure.
What would it take for you to join the upcoming ForumAdvertiser.com? As theezy said, get the .net and .org so you can have full domain control (though that wouldn't be a factor in me joining, I'ma join anywayz if it iz good), and everything mentioned in the first question. I will definitely join if everything is there, plus vB.

1 and 4 are kind of the same questions, so I'll answer them in one answer: I usually look for a friendly, active community, friendly staff and members, decent services (doesn't matter if they're unique, as long as it's helpful).

As for software, it doesn't matter to me. Personally, I don't like the look of VB at all, I really like PHPBB better myself, but it's your own personall decision. I would gladly join up as I loved the original Forum Advertiser when it was still around so I'll gladly be active on there once again.

What do you look for in a promotion forum? I don't. I look for something unique. Pure promotion is way overdone, especially on this forum.
What does a promotion forum need? Something unique with a heavily modified or custom theme/style. Also, do something that's different. Most promotion forums I see are very boring. Perhaps write your own documentations and stuff.
phpBB (with custom theme) or vB? ANYTHING but either of those. Good luck getting around vBulletin's Admin CP.
What would it take for you to join the upcoming ForumAdvertiser.com? Impress me. I'm sure you can do it.

What do you look for in a promotion forum? 500,000+ posts. I do not join very many promotion forums, as I do not care for the admin target audience. Resource forums as much better.
What does a promotion forum need? Either to not exist at all or actually have a helpful atmosphere. Just having people promote their sites is stupid. You need a community of people to help members.
phpBB (with custom theme) or vB? MyBB or vB.
What would it take for you to join the upcoming ForumAdvertiser.com? To actually have a serious admin? seriously, 99% of these forums are crap. Mostly starting one is a waste of time.

What do you look for in a promotion forum? something that DIDNT copy everything in the world from FP
What does a promotion forum need? less spam
phpBB (with custom theme) or vB? PHPBB
What would it take for you to join the upcoming ForumAdvertiser.com? A lot

What do you look for in a promotion forum? Well decent quality, half decent staff like Forum Promotion that know there bounds.
2nd question: Newer services, not like copying everything revolving around FP, there is no new services that you can make unless you are unique and creative.
3rd Question: phpBB, I would like to see this custom theme. Plus you can add more customizable modifications to make better use of the forum.
4th Question: As Cosmic said, but atleast have a good laugh and connection with the members, also that goes with staff. Also to have services that make good use for users forums.

What do you look for in a promotion forum?
A good community base. Lots of users, good services, and a fun community.

What does a promotion forum need?
A good set of staff members, reliable admins, and good services.

phpBB (with custom theme) or vB?
Personally I'd like to see a nice custom phpBB site.

What would it take for you to join the upcoming ForumAdvertiser.com?
I'd join anyway. Anything to make a new site nice and successful!

If I go with vB, I probably won't use a custom theme. If I go with phpBB, I'll be getting a professional custom theme made, preferbly by MhW, the guy who designed the skin for FP.

Shotgun, I would go for phpBB3, a lot more customizable. If your needing any help with phpBB3 or Forum Advertiser, just ask me 🙂
