Suggestions for making money on Tech forums.

If you write a lot about "beginners computer tutorials" for people who are not tech savvy, you can make some money off your forum from adsense from less advance users since many PC newbies still use Internet Explorer with no Ad-blocking extensions installed on IE.

Affiliate Marketing programs where you earn commissions for helping to sell eBooks, products, software, and books about technology can also bring in some money as well.

You can try make a lot of quality YouTube computer help videos for newbies about computers and Windows 8, and apply for the YouTube partnership which can pay pretty well if you can get enough views, and subscriptions.

Yes, sell the ad spots. You'll make more that way than using Google. That way you also won't have the ability to get banned for 'suspected abuse'

Honestly, I find that the majority of the people that go to tech forums tend to be people that aren't that knowledgeable. They want to be, but they aren't.

I agree there is still a large majority of people who go on tech forums which require a lot of assistance/walk throughs with new technology, and are not as tech savvy as people who don't require assistance with tech.

What you need is targeted traffic to earn money with Adsense, and most Ad networks.

http://2createawebsite.com/ is a webmaster/make money online website, but the web master makes thousands of dollars a month from Adsense, her own ads, affiliate marketing, and her products and services (web hosting and domain reselling). Her niche is very tech savvy since most webmasters know a lot about web technology, or know enough to make a blog or website.

Why not completely stray away from adsense and try affiliate programs? Seeing as you are a tech site, write tech reviews and have links at the bottom to buy the item via an affiliate link.

I heard it is better to mix up your revenue stream since you may earn more from Adsense then Affiliate Marketing, or you may earn more from Affiliate Marketing then Adsense.

I heard a member names Spyka who makes free Website templates on Spyka.net for people to download makes about 100 dollars a day from Adsense.

Plus, he also makes money from private ads.

Well if you offer quality content, and have enough traffic best way to make money would be premium membership fees. Selling adspots is useless unless you have some terrific traffic.

Selling ad spots does work, most of ours come from outside the member base, you just have to go out and work the deal. Some of our members have paid for the two premium spots we have but most have been companies that pay us.

Ilya is correct that your site does need traffic in order for anyone to pay but you can get those type of ads it just takes time.

We have had two retail and one web developer advertise with us.

I would suggest using skimlinks. its an automated system that selects words out of your post and creates links. with each click of the link you earn a small amount of money.

I thought Buy Sell Ads reject a lot of low traffic sites since I read on forums that their standards are kind of higher then Adsense, Chitkita, and Adbrite.
