I have launched a forum today and am thinking to organize a posting competition to boost up activity in the forum. I am looking for suggestions in this matter.
What I have in mind?
$10 USD for the winner of a 10 day long contest.
This contest wouldn't get members posting across the board though unfortunately, sorry as I must have overlooked your title but it's something different....you would have a thread set up by admin and members would post in that thread...ie if your forum has 6,280 posts then they will put in how many total posts that may have been posted in a month/3 months etc time. You could set up your own rules if members are allowed to reply more than once and it would close say a week before the time limit. It really depends on how many members you have on your forum.
More on topic.....If I was to hold a posting competition then I would have it for much longer than 10 days as that time will go pretty quickly and you want time to generate enough activity to try to stimulate it into growth for further down the line when the competition ends.

Oh i get it now. But for this to work I would need to have members first who will then guess the numbers. Anyways, its a great idea. I will surely implement it upon my forum establishment.
