Suggestions on getting a new site started

I am wondering if anyone can give me feedback on how to get my site on the right track. I just rebranded from a forum concept into a website/blog web 2.0 style (using Social Engine.) Basically we are a technology discussion site using the Reddit-style posting method. We are actively using Facebook to promote and Forum Promotion as well however we are failing to attract new members at the rate that we are comfortable with. Any suggestions? Thanks

If your query is regarding digital marketing then, first of all, select a domain name which should be catchy with your primary keywords, I know that will have bought by someone else already even though you will get the optional related to that kind of domain choose what you think best. And start SEO under Google guideline with white hat SEO. The domain is new so, (PPC) pay per click will be the better option but, you have to pay money for each click. And start doing content marketing it can be said as off-page or social media optimization.

I think that the more you try to "catch up" to social media trends, the less chances there are for your forums to become successful. Think about all of the people out there who HATE Crappit or Lameface. They're looking for something much better than those kinds of sites. When Crappit and Lameface both die off, you'll be faced with a dilemma on where to go next. Do you just keep jumping on bandwagons or do you stand your ground and refuse unnecessary "changes"?

I would suggest for paid advertising like Google Adwords if you have the money. Build your keyword popularity in search engines.

These days creating a website has become easy. There are millions of websites on the internet and thousands of websites get added every day. So getting customer attention is a tough job. Sites like this can be very hard to get off the ground, as those niches are dominated by very large sites in the niche. I've never tried this myself, but I'd recommend generating discussions and content on your site, then linking to them via sites like Reddit (in particular, as they're a competitor), and also social networks like Facebook. Don't make it spam though. People dislike spam, but they like valuable content.

I don't think there is any fast rules to getting a site up and running and it would seem by just having great content and plugging away at it is the best way to go.
