Suggestions Starting a New Forum Help

It has been 24hr that I own my first domain and 2hr I start free hosting with x10hosting as most of the people here recommend me x10hosting.And without even thinking for more time about forum softwares I go with phpbb as forumpromotion and many members here likes phpbb.So,this thread will be for helping me with problems ahead in creating my first community and maybe newbies around forumpromotion too.

Now,I need to design my whole forum so I want to know which style is best for you in phpbb?Default style like prosilver or absolution or any next I should use?Is there any defects if i chose absolution? 🙂

there are several versions of phpBB, I am using v3.0.10, do you have any idea which one you are using?

I have never heard of absolution, do you have a link so I could check out a demo of it?

I too am using 3.0.10 on mine and have created my own style out of another one.

Rather than asking what is the best theme for phpBB, I would say you need to look into your forum's niche again. Some themes are just not for one or two specific niche. Knowing your niche and think of colors you want to use (which are appropriate with the niche I guess) will help you better in finding a theme you want.

For a database of phpBB styles, I think you can go to phpbb.com and check their style database or visit a website called Awesome Styles.

Thanks everyone for suggestions,as I can't make/pay for any new style I go with absolution.I strongly suggest others not to use this because with this you will be in trouble in installing phpbb mods plus absolution theme author has left phpbb help section.So,it will be difficult.

To be honest, you have to put more effort to promote your forum with a free forum software. Most of people do not like even to register for such forums. Because they are not user friendly. As an example, editing your signature in phpBB is very annoying.
I suggest to migrate your forum to a premium software such as Xenforo, vBulletin or IPborad.

What utter nonsense !

Xenforo will cost a minimum of $140 plus $50 a year licence renewal, the same with VB, and IP ( though I'm not sure about that).

The BEST add ons in Xenforo have to be bought, and there are upgrade fee's attached to those.

Editing a signature in phpBB is no more difficult than any other software !

Absolution is quite old now, and I don't think it has been upgraded since 3.0.8, ODf you install MODs manually you should be OK, however if you use autoMOD you will cannot finds on most MODS, and have to make manual edits.

AutoMOD is fine for installing one MOD, after that it is very easy for it to get lost.

Most of Christians themes are based around Absolution, so if you are having problems with MODs, I can probably help.

Just because you have chosen Absolution it doesn't mean you are stuck with it, you can install as many styles as you like, all you need to do is the style edits for each MOD.

I got no better choice than absolution for starting so I go with it.If the forum become sucessfull I will ask others to make custom theme.
About modding,I installed cash mod and couple of others but I don't find reputation,avatar resizing mod working for 3.0.10.
