Does anyone have any homework for school to do over the summer? This is my first summer having homework, and it really stinks. It's for my AP History class next year, and it's a lot of work.

Then why are you on line

When I was at school in 3rd and 4th year we got home work in the holidays which normally was to help us towards are exams which was not much fun you think they would let you off during the holidays as you have work hard the rest of the year

Seems to defeat the purpose of summer. School has become more about passing standardized tests than learning.

That really sucks. Homework over the summer holidays. Isn't there something in the Bill of Rights or Lefts about that? 🙂

I usually only have summer reading over summer vacation. Sometimes I have a work sheet that goes with it, but not that much.

Doesn't sound that hard. Mind you I never got homework at all during my school years.

I haven't got much homework this year and we were supposed to get loads because of the earthquake

Whatever you're doing, college/grad school is 10x harder. I don't want to be mean and say suck it up and deal with it, but your high school is just preparing you for college.

I don't really agree with this. College really isn't much harder for me than high school was. It totally depends on what type of student you are, though.

Well in college you definitely get more homework. Also depends on your major.

Definitely. The type of program you are in really defines how much work you are going to get. Some require a lot of reading. Some require a lot of analyzing, etc.

Yeah, you definitely do get more homework. I wouldn't say that it's significantly harder work than what you'd see in an honors/AP class in high school for the most part, though. I guess that's really sort of a redundant statement, though, since AP classes in high school basically are college courses.
