Your Quick Review
Pros:
- I really like your site’s navigation. The links at the top are very nice looking, and it’s just very smooth overall. It’s consistent through the whole site, which is very good.
- Your site’s name is weird (in a good way!) enough to be original. It’s hard to come up with good names for general discussion forums nowadays, but you created one I think people will remember.
- Your site’s color scheme is very nice. It’s light and airy. It’s not too bright nor too dark. Definitely keep this skin.
- I like how you’ve written your rules out. It’s easy to read, and they’re fair enough. I think members will appreciate how you’ve laid it out.
Cons:
- Your domain is a bit bizarre. “sushi.it.cx” isn’t easily remembered and it isn’t a typical top level domain. On a related note, you could probably use a favicon. It makes it better for people adding your site as a bookmark.
- You have quite a few forums that don’t seem necessary. Considering your site is a general discussion forum, I fail to see you can have an “On Topic Chat” and “Off-Topic Chat” forum. Your forum has no topic. Also, the subforums seem a bit over-the-top considering you don’t have that many members. Save all of those for when you see a true need.
- Your forum’s skin isn’t fluid. That bugs me. All forum skins by today should be fluid for people like me with high-resolution monitors.
- Your forum descriptions could use some spell-and-grammar-checking. For example,
“Feel free to say hi to the world (if you're new) or say goodbye if you're leaving for a vacation.” Should be, “Feel free to say, “Hi!” to the world (if you're new), or say goodbye if you're leaving for a vacation.”
“Chat about anything. But please stay on topic” should be, “Chat about anything, but please stay on topic.”
Those are just a few examples.
Final/General Thoughts: With a few adjustments, your forum will be off to a good start.
