SWC Network

I would recommend removing the illegal content, as this against the hosts and domain registrars TOS.

To be honest, it's a mess. First off, why is the logo so damn large, it's unnecessary. Number two, you have too many forums that only have one sub-forum inside of them. Why? It would make more sense to group relative child forums under parent forums.

I get a very unfinished feel of your community. There is nothing that introduces your guests to what you offer, which is a big no-no. My head also hurts reading some of your posts as some of your members have horrendous grammar and spelling.

There is illegal content on the forum too and I can't find one topic in the Announcement section that has a set of guidelines or rules. This explains why members aren't following the rules, there are none.

Yeah, it's a grey area depending on their host. Like I said, their forums are difficult to navigate and aren't sorted in any logical order. It's all thrown together to get on the market.

Weed are you kidding its literally legal in many states and its a damn Plant Grow up

No need to get butt hurt buddy :asshat:

By the way, your post is a run on sentence. I have corrected your horrendous grammar. Try harder 🙂

Weed are you kidding? It's legal in many different states and it's a damn plant. Grow up.

As for the whole weed thing, it really is up to the host as it's their opinion that matters not any of ours as to what qualifies as a TOS violation. It might be a good idea to make sure said discussion doesn't fall under some sort of TOS violation so you don't risk your site getting taken down because of it. I won't say it's an illegal discussion simply because I am not keen on who your host is and what their rules are so unless Rudolph wants to quote the board's host's rules then they really shouldn't be making accusations against someone without the evidence alongside the rule that states it is illegal.

The layout is a bit of a mess though as it's hard to tell just what kind of forum you are going for here as the layout doesn't come off as coherent as it's just jumbled up. I really don't get why this forum has a marketplace or a web promotion section as they really have no place on a forum such as yours which I am guessing is general chat or some sort of quasi sports/general discussion forum.

As for posting, would it really kill you to type out words and use periods after each sentence? I don't know why you are so opposed to ending each sentence with a period or spelling out words like "are" and "you". It just comes off as lazy which makes little sense if you intend for your posts to read and perhaps replied to when you take so little effort in writing them in a coherent fashion that doesn't require someone sitting there and figuring out where one sentence ends and another begins.

When you post on a forum with an advertising signature for your forum, you represent your forum and you do it no favors by losing your temper and acting childish. An admin sets the tone and the standards for the entire community that they are an administrator of and you demonstrate that standard when you conduct yourself on any forum you are visiting and either demonstrate why someone should or shouldn't join it by your conduct.

I think the forum is an informal place so I see no need for massive grammar/spelling enforcement. However, the situation might be different if people are being paid to write there, but maybe not. I think the concern of the forum seems to be interesting material, not the look of the words.

It depends on the audience. His appeal seems to be toward more informal people.

At least as far as the market thing is concerned, isn't it true that the wrestling industry sells merchandise? How would this be any different? Also, why should the community be discouraged from selling to each other, simply due to the niche?

Don't let users engage in illegal discussions.

If there is selling going on, then yes.

I'lll just start by saying that this isn't a bad forum at all, infact, you've got the foundations for a very successful site 🙂 The first thing that strikes me about your forum is it's pallete of colours, the blue is a shade which I feel really compliments and stands out on the black background of the site however that said, I'm not too sure where the orange shade ties into the pallete; I feel perhaps a darker shade of blue might be more complementary. I think that the problem of the orange stems from the fact that your theme is one of the defaults provided on the XF Resources website, which there's nothing wrong with at all, but could be customised a little bit more thoughtfully to tie in everything. The logo at the top of the site, I feel is the correct size- I know some users said it's on the large side, but I tested it on two different resoloutions and it seemed to be fine- and the font used on it is unique and suits the title SWC well; Again, to me the colour ties beautifully in with the pallete, making it bold and stand out amongst the rest of the site. Another area that I feel a little bit of work could be focused however, is your rank CSS, if styled correctly these look really nice but at the moment are quite barren with just a coloured border round some text. I'd suggest adding icons and colour-code these bars to it's associated team to make them stand out a little better.

Moving onto content of the site, and I feel this may be a slight downfall of SWC Network. While you have a decent number of threads and posts for your member count) 64, you don't have a decent number of threads and posts in relation to the categories offered by the forum with some being left sparsely filled and in some cases, bare. One of the things I look for when joining any new forum, is activity, I want to find a friendly and bubbling hive of activity around the niche that I am interested in joining but there just isn't that entices potential new users. The way you've laid out the forums is quirky and it may work in the case of some discussion forums, it doesn't necessarily suit all of yours- For example your Announcements Forum (Arguably the most important of a forum) is a subforum or a forum that is displayed 2nd on your index giving it barely any visability to your users and making it difficult to navigate your forum index when specifically looking for forums containing informative forum-related threads.

When it comes down to professionalism when making Announcement and other formality threads, I wouldn't directly say they're unprofessional, but they are not up there with the highest quality which I've seen. Generally speaking, you have some slightly informal titles such as ("FYI" and "Please Pardon Our Apperance") which are sometimes fine, but when announcing major matters such as scam messages, should really be made a bit more formal to stand out better. In threads such as SWC News, you could also be more elaborate on rules for members to avoid your rules being misconstrued. I can see a decent level of grammar and spelling in these threads however so they do maintaint that area of professionalism.

Your forum has the basis and members already, depsite being new, to excel, but you need careful layout, design and detail to really entice new members to the forum 🙂 I wish you all the luck with SWC Network!

We could definitely use your help in helping organizing the site if you are interested. Sent you a message and we are looking for a skin to be custom made but haven’t been able to find anyone
