I'm currently hosting my forum on 000Webhost and I'm going to get paid hosting from either Webhosting Fox(http://www.webhostingfox.com) or Fast Domains(http://hosting.fastdomain.com). I wanted to know if you could transfer the forum from 000webhost to either of those host without losing any of the posts or members and is it free to do that?

I'm not sure about their database policy... I know with most sites it's pretty much a drag/drop type of event. A few config changes and it's like the host was never changed.

Ya , it's quite possible but it can be a complicated one transferring all those from one host to another . You should take professional help in such cases , if anything gets messed up you might end up losing everything on your forum .

You can tranfer the forum over. Just download all the forum files via ftp and in phpmyadmin export the database. On the new host upload all the forum files, create a new database and import the db through phpmyadmin and then just alter the config file with the new database name, user name and password and you are done.

As for hosts i would recommend HawkHost. We use them and they are pretty cheap and reliable.

As that you're an admin of a massive forum. Which package would you recommend and how much storage space does a forum need? approx? becuase I'm not sure how much it would need and therefore was going to get the unlimited package from the web host.

I'm on 10GB transfer, 1GB space, and I'm starting to run short on BW at the end of the month. 1GB space is plenty. If you get over 100 uniques daily, I say go for more than 10GB transfer. I get between 80 and 120 and as I said I'm running close.

We are using just under 30gb of bandwidth a month at the moment. Forums don't need much space unless you allow loads and loads of attachments or you host alot of files (like a gallery)

I'm probably getting 3GB of space and 30GB of bandwidth.

If it's just one forum, you won't even require 250MB space (unless you're vBulletin and you have a lot of stuff on it). Hawkhost's smallest plan (3GB) will be more than enough to host several forums.

Hello,
I would like to point out that at WebHostingFox we do indeed transfer Databases free of charge if you want us too. Looking at your forum size you wouldn't need that much space however you can pick a plan that is best for you if you wish. Our server is very fast and we haven't had any downtime  and of course we hope to keep it that way!
