I searched high and low for a thread about this, and was shocked that someone hadn't posted one. ๐Ÿ˜› (Maybe someone who's name Begins with a T and ends with an F)!

Anyway, I'm glad we all agree that this is the best Anime ever! <3

I've done the same. xD

Who's this user you speak of? Tele Fone?

SAO is pretty darn amazing. Easily one of my top 3 favourite anime. ๐Ÿ˜›

How exciting it is to find a thread with easily recognizable title, especially given the nature of this forum and the content of the topic. XD

SAO. Something that starts with brilliant premise, but somehow lost the momentum in the middle. There are still great parts, but I still feel that the pilot episode is the best episode of all.

Do you guys also read the light novel?

I'd definitely read the light novels if I could find an audio book. Maybe I should look harder for one. ๐Ÿ˜›

Too bad they didn't add more Aincrad content. The second half of season 1 is still good, but it's not insanely good, like season 1 part 1 is, and like season 2 is.

Not sure about that, but since I have real life friends who also read the novels, that means at least there is English translation for the novels.

I don't know how much content they omit from the anime, but the tension died down so quickly after they got out of Aincrad. Because the danger is not as grave as the first world, after all. Especially season 2 is generally more laid back, even with the whole GGO situation.

Hello there, hard core fans. :XD:

Looking at the popularity and that there are some novels left to be adapted, there are theories that we may get third season for the anime. What do you say about it?

I most certainly hope so! ๐Ÿ˜€ It would be great if they found a way to revisit Aincrad.

Season 2 Episode ~4 spoilers:
I was a bit skeptical of GGO, until they linked the situation back to SAO with the laughing coffin tattoo. That left me pretty speechless. ๐Ÿ˜› The PKing element was something they didn't explore enough in the Aincrad arc, I think, and it was good to see them go into that again.

In season 1, episode 15, when they cleared Aincrard, I was like: "Really? Already? ๐Ÿ˜›" Arc 2 of season 1 felt a little bit over the top, too, although it was still great.

But Aincrad is supposed to be gone already now, no?

I honestly feel that the link to SAO's Laughing Coffin is awesome, but unfortunately the character was nobody significant, thus decreasing the strength of the twist. Or maybe I was too focused at other things that this detail didn't matter much when they were in SAO. Also because in GGO I was rather mad watching Kirito getting all lovey-dovey with Sinon while leaving Asuna in the dark about many things. LOL~

ALO was... scary. :s

Spoilers up to end of season 2
Season 2 part 2 includes the New Aincrad, which was added into ALO. So, they could add more Aincrad stuff without the die-in-the-game-die-in-real-life element. It's also possible, though, for them to add content which fits into the timeline in the middle of season 1 part 1, although the problem with that is that Kirito and Asuna weren't on good terms until ~Floor 73, so there isn't too much room there to involve all the characters. EDIT: correction - floor ~57, so there is room. From floors 57-74 Asuna and Kirito's relationship is not greatly explored, although it's clear they never teamed up. Also, the anime's creators could release a season covering a different set of characters as the main characters, with Asuna and Kirito popping in.

I was also hoping that the Laughing Coffin guy would be someone from the first story arc, especially since they were flashing through all of the faces of people Kirito had met, which means they kind of implied it. I guess the third death gun was never arrested, although the characters probably know his SAO username from his real name, so no real room for surprises there.

I was glad to see more Asuna in Season 2 part 2. That was a very good story arc.

On the subject of a third season, they left a hanging plot thread at the end of the last episode of season 2. Kirito was just about to ask Asuna a favor when he was interrupted.

Thanks for the link! ๐Ÿ˜€ Best battle music of any anime, ever!

I really enjoy SAO. I been keeping up with it pretty well. I also enjoy playing SAO Hollow Fragment on my PS Vita. Also plan to get SAO Lost Song.

For fellow SAO fans I made this gif as soon as I seen the episode came out.

Hah! I remember that scene. ๐Ÿ˜›

Haven't played any of the SAO games. I wonder if there are any for the platforms I have. I'll have to look that up. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope that, someday, they release Sword Art Online Online, the MMORPG. ๐Ÿ˜€

If they released a VRMMORPG named Sword Art Online based on the Anime, I definitely wouldn't buy it on the first day! ๐Ÿ˜›

I may enjoy SAO as an anime but I really would think twice before playing any VRMMORPG released in the future because of this anime. XD

Sometimes I think we get to see more side characters than necessary. Especially when I saw the romance part with Asuna, I kinda regret why we didn't see more of their interactions in previous floors or at least a more detailed Asuna's background before they got together.

I also enjoyed Asuna's arc, even better than GGO, haha. Even the short filler session of getting Excalibur was quite fun. I'd be happy to see more exploration like that in third season, if there is any.
