Tabs - Opinions Please :)

I have a general discussion forum and I was thinking of adding tabs to seperate the forums. It would mean I could add more forums and specific topics like Xbox 360,HandHeld Gaming ect.. instead of just having a gaming section. Should I?

I dislike them and find them to be an annoyance. I like to see all the forums on the index page.. But that's just my personal preference.

I have to agree with Theezy. They never look good and I find it very annoying having to switch between different categories.

I never did care for those. I've seen those on other forums and it just makes the layout too confusing. I for one would never add something like that to any site I ran.

I also don't like tabs. Tabs make the forum feels small to my eyes. Without tabs members and visitors can also see the forum more as a whole and can even visit sections they may not like before when they see something interesting. As long as there is a collapse/expand button for categories, I don't think we need tabs.

When I clicked on the link to your forum, I liked what I saw. To me, it was something different you don't see on many forums, which is nice and refreshing. It helps to break the forum apart; especially if you've got a lot of content on your board. To be honest, it's not an issue for me, and I say embrace it!

Tabs are annoying. I prefer just having everything on the one page, so I can access it easily.

To me personally I would never put any tabs on my forums...and yes tends to be a litle annoyance.
