What's something you've taken for granted or feel others take for granted?

One that comes to mind a lot for me lately is how I took all the vacation time I had as standard in the UK for granted and never made an effort to use all of it in a given year. For context, I would have almost four weeks of paid vacation time. Meanwhile in the US I currently get zero paid vacation which means if I want time off I run the risk of losing money.

I don't know if this one is taking it for granted but realizing just how much work goes into keeping a house in running order what with all the bills, chores, etc. that you don't really have a true understanding of until you move out and have to suddenly manage all of that stuff yourself.

I would like to think I don’t. I learned early on to never think bad things can't happen to you. But I know I may take my husband for granted at times. He is always taking good care of me & don’t know what I’d literally do without him.

Our living situations. Most of us have a roof over our heads, a nice warm bed to sleep in at night, a refrigerator full of food, an oven to cook it on, TV, computer, internet, etc. Even though we have all those modern luxuries we complain about them and want more. Nothing is ever good enough for some people.

Yes. We spend more time wanting what we can't have and downplay what we already do have.

I take some of the luxuries in my day to day living for granted. I love a hot shower on a cold winter's night, and I give thanks to God every time I step in there lately. When I go grocery shopping and find that items are back in stock, I'm happy because there have been shortages on things I never thought would not be in the store.

Not me, I am grateful everyday for what I have because I've had a lot less and been in a worse spot.

I was homeless for 3 weeks when I was 18. I ran away from my family and my home over a girl and it didn't work out. The world is a harsh place when there's no support. I really had to get my priorities straight.
