Taking in stray animals?

Does anyone else like to take in stray animals? Most of all of my animals have been strays. We just took in a stray puppy this morning too. it's in really bad shape. I can't really tell what kind of dog it is just yet, though.

We've done it one time with a furry black and white cat although, he wanted out after a short stay each time. That was during 2010-12.

We never have, but we don’t get them around here.

We did once try to care for an injured chipmunk, but sadly he ended up dying.

I haven't seen any wild creatures here... Other than tiny little lizards and a giant cockroach once.

My parents did once when I was very young. A stray cat. Worked out for awhile but he simply couldn't be domesticated so we gave him to a shelter. As an adult, I never have taken in a stray. There really aren't that many of them these days as there were when I was younger. When I was around 11 years old, stray dogs and cats were a big problem in New York City.
