Some bad/rebellious/obnoxious students are more than deserving of a beat down but that doesn't mean that teachers should give them what they deserve. Have some self control!

Same with me. I feel that the most he will get is some anger management course. Things like that are posted on Youtube quite a lot and most get a warning or some course they have to attend. Slap on the wrist.

You know, I do agree that some of these kids deserve a beating, but what these teachers need to remember is, THESE ARE KIDS. Kids are expected to be jerks and rude.

If you go into the teaching profession, and you're not able to stand rude kids, then you've buried yourself under papers of which you can't escape.

I work with teachers.. Ive noticed the ones just starting out have a lot more patience. The ones that have been doing it for 20 or 30 years are tired and fed up. Any little thing will bring them to their boiling point. Especially the ones that work at schools in bad neighborhoods where practically all the kids are little punks.
They still have composure though. They are humans not animals.. Which is what that guy looked like when he was going into attack mode. if a kid is being bad send them up to the office. Thats what the vice principal is for.

Well it said the kid was 13.. I doubt a class full of 12 and 13 year olds are brave enough to fight off a grown man. They were probably wetting themselves. lol

The bystanders are as guilty as the teacher. Its as if they are promoting this violence by letting the fight continue.

People are saying that such if they were there at the time, at their present state (whether 18 or 80), they would have done whatever, not if they were a 13 year old. Plus, I've seen this with students so I know what I would have done.

Having sex with a student is worse than beating a student, but the latter still displays horrifying and disgusting behaviour, and the worst thing is that people were standing around and watching. While I probably wouldn't have intervened, the least you can do is go and get a teacher, although the article claims that there was 4 or 5 staff members in the room at the time.

At least the kid who recorded the video did something, and what he did could help prosecute this idiot in court, if somebody decides to take action and give him what he deserves.

The teacher obviously has some issues he has to work out, jailing him would probably make those even worse. Imo he should be banned from working as a teacher and get some help.
