Do you think a teacher that has no tolerance, yells, & flunks their students if they get annoyed should be allowed to teach?

Are they teaching what needs to be taught or getting off topic to yell? I think it depends on the district but there are teachers who get evaluated and some areas are even doing hidden evaluations and surprise evaluations.

Not everyone is meant to be a teacher. It can be very stressful and what happens in one class hour can affect how the teacher's mood is for the next class coming in. I used to be a sub and I tried not to let the bad students make me go crazy. Sometimes I just gave them the bathroom hall pass and said Come Back Later, I don't want to deal with you 😉

I had this art teacher in high school. She was belligerent. You couldn't really be nice to her.

She lacked common decency including any kind of morality. Almost 17 years later, people that I went to school with "still" refer to her as a bitch. She and her husband are the proprietors of the Wendy's restaurant where I live.

If you asked her a question, you got a back handed comment in return. She was quick to give out After School and In School detention to anyone that slightly annoyed her. She even punished students who didn't deserve it and everyone knew it. In her point of view, children were to be seen and not heard. She killed any kind of dreams I had for art. She did it to the other kids in the classroom. She's the reason why I no longer draw or paint. She'd not only criticize your work but degrade it in front of the entire class room.

It didn't bother me that much that she told me that I lacked skill. That was reasonable criticism to me. What aggravated me was that she didn't treat anyone else with respect.

If you said something that annoyed her. She'd stand you up in front of everyone and lecture you on how stupid you are. She never did it to me but she did it to mostly the boys in class when I had her. She was so bad that several kids would skip her class until they could transfer to something else. She was that bad. I remember getting a hall pass to use the restroom and this girl came running out of her class crying her eyes out over something that she said.

Another girl I knew who took her class, worked on a painting with her mother who passed away from cancer. Our art teacher had hosted a contest in class. The girl submitted this painting and got a passing grade. However after the contest was over. And when the girl asked for her painting back. She refused to give her the painting back.

What did the teacher need the painting for? She graded it. It served it's purpose. There was no point in withholding it.

I honestly think she should been fired a long long time ago. She was extremely anti social. She was very discouraging on the school subject. People like her don't need to be in the schools around other people's kids. When you have someone like this who is mentally and emotionally abusive, it amazes me how she ever kept her job. I hope she's long gone by the time my kids get into high school.

I don't know. A lot of people are complaining people are too soft these days. Nonetheless, there are teachers with an attitude who don't rub well with students - and it's not about "tough love". Basically, bad employees like really mean correctional officers and the like have it coming.

Too bad you didn't have today's technology so you could take proof to the school board concerning her.

I'm an artist so if you ever want art tips or help, let me know 🙂 It's never too late to get into art or back into it.
