Teamspeak 3 is a VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol). You can have the option to use your mic/speakers to communicate. I really like the design of Teamspeak and it is really easy to use. It's probably one of the best communication programs I have come across. I use Teamspeak on a regular basis to communicate with other people in the online world.

It is. I have used Skype and I currently use it. I do slightly prefer teamspeak because you can set up different channels (Channels = Topics). For example, you could have a music channel and you could have staff channels, etc. You can also set up Server Groups( Owner, Mod etc) and permissions (ban, kick etc). I do still like Skype, it's a great tool for communication.

I don't use it but I've heard of it. Don't really see a need for me to use it.

I like it better than skype in certain situations. I think the load on your internet is less if you use TS, and there is less delay.

Therefore, I prefer skype for personal conversations or just hanging out in a game with one or two people. If I am playing a game where I need to coordinate with people, such as League of Legends, I prefer TeamSpeak. It's very efficient, and provides a very robust system for communicating in game with my team.

Out of all the major VOIP's, I think TS is my favorite. It's UI is the easiest for me to use, and it just feels better to me 🙂

Used to use this and Ventrilo quite a bit when I ran a Day of Defeat clan when I was 16 (hard to believe 6 years ago already).

I used own an server, however it cost me for nothing, I had no users and I had to shut it down

I normally use it when I play games to communicate with other players. I do prefer TS over any other VoIP
