Small Forum Review
First Impressions
Not good, the landing page, and cold play tune made me think your site had been hacked. As far as I can make out it has nothing to do with the forum genre.
I’m assuming that the theme is a default IPB theme, which is OK but needs some elements to make it a little unique
Appearance
When it comes to appearance we find that once again blue is the dominant colour, but this theme is more pleasing than some due to the off white text area’s which make the blue work.
The banner is a little plain and simple, not entirely what I expected from a tech based forum, the image of an on/off button is hardly representative of computer technology, the chosen font is OK, but as an Englishman I strongly dislike the spelling of Rumo(u)rs, that said you cannot please all users.
The forum icons look like stock icons, a chance has been missed to use unique ones to give the board that customised look.
Ratios and Statistics
The forum is very young, your ratios are a little high,so you have no need for any moderators until your member base has really expanded.
The posting is not spread evenly across the whole board, which points to you having too many forums. ( something you say members have pointed out)
Content
Content needs improving, mainly because there isn’t a lot of it yet, what there is happens to be good and informative.
Final Remarks
This is a very young forum, barely a fortnight old, and like all new forums it needs a good deal of work, as it stands it appears to be fairly inactive, one way to get around this is to merge forums, it’s a common mistake to think “more is better”, when in fact “less is more” in a new forums case, eg: all the Windows forums could be merged into one, until the forum gets a lot busier, doing that alone would reduce the OS category by over 75%, a similar approach to the other categories would do the same, plus this would make the forum look more active, and therefore more appealing.
Using sub-forums to reduce the length of the index page is also a good way to reduce clutter.
The first thing you should do is alter your home/landing page, that is your 15secs, if people don’t like that, they wont even click on the forum link to see whats inside.
