I'll join when I wake up... my eyes feel funny and the theme doesn't work well with my eyes right now.

Few things.

1. No need for all the 'time era' boards, doesn't really fit the teen theme.

2. Watch out not to add too many sections, it makes your site look smaller than it is.

3. Be sure it's not just a smaller VirtualTeen, I made the same mistake. Yours is an extreme version of that though, going as far to use the same (or very similar) post ranks. Make sure your site has a 'unique selling point'

4. Most people prefer light skins to dark skins

Well first of all I would like to set the record straight; I have specific permissions and people working with me from VirtualTeen that confirmed some of the usage. It has not gone to as far as a replica though it may have some similarity. As far as the "Time Era" goes, it is not being removed, it's a very well liked area as it gives us a little spice to the forum. Yes, it is a Help Forum, but it does have its room for fun as well. I don't see the need to get rid of something that is doing quite well am I correct? If you would like to take a look at some of the skins provided for vB version 3.8 and find some decently created and well formatted skins cool, though people are quite satisfied with the variety going. We have a mixture of both bright and dark to make sure both sides are met. I think I have my "Selling Point" well taken care of. The sections are divided, organized and categorized to meet the standards of the descriptions provided, so there are a few too many sections? More for people to post and have a great time. I see no problems with it, though I do appreciate your advice, I think things are covered here.
*bump*

I don't really have time to find you skins unfortunately, but if you don't want to accept my feedback that's fine.

One day you'll learn not to only rely on positive feedback.

I was talking to someone else about your site, and we came to the conclusion that no one would join it because it's just a less active version of another site. Make it unique.

As far as I'm concerned we're doing just fine thanks. I have people that give me feed back to IMPROVE the site not belittle it. Thanks.

I've been an administrator on 3 big time forums, I don't think it's in your power to look down on me as something that you're not. As far as your forums luck, that's your problem that they didn't succeed. I have confidence in mine. If you think otherwise then please contact me privately as there is no need to spam up this thread that is supposed to be welcoming.

To be brutally honest with you, I could care less what you or the other person thinks about my forum as the members that are a part of it and contribute to it are the ONLY ones that can give me viable advice on how to run my forum. No one would join? LOLOLOL, in almost 3 months of it open we have over 6000 posts almost 200 members and over 700 threads open and the posts aren't all staff, so make sure you do your research before coming to these "conclusions" of yours. Now if you would like to speak to me further on this matter, I have a PM box.
Thanks

Being rude to potential users won't help Maverick. See it from my perspective. You even have the same name of the main admin at VirtualTeen.

Also before you start with the "I'm more experienced than you" lecture, my new forum has received 10,000 posts in just over one month 😉

Just look. I've told you what I think and why I wouldn't register at your site, that's something that all admins should want. Your site has literally no USP and almost everything is identical to VT. Someone even posted in your help forum asking about a problem relating to VT, doesn't that say something to you?

I made the mistake of doing that you're doing before, that's why I'm trying to help you - I'm speaking from experience here.

I don't see a need to PM you feedback, I'm done on this.

I don't believe I've been rude man, you just seem to be pushy and I don't like it 😛 Also FYI if you would notice the other admin is Goose, so it's an inside joke, so please SPARE ME. lol

Good for you buddy, I wasn't about to go on the "I'm more experienced than you" lecture either so don't make assumptions. I wouldn't wast my time.

Of course dude, but we just have things run differently. It ain't all that identical 😛 Oh well that's just your opinion

We've done a lot of changes, you don't know how it is on the inside, what we have inside the forum. What friendships have gotten closer. Our experiences growing as a forum. You know absolutely nothing about my forum. So before you go off and say something further to belittle my forum, know how it really is and how it's enjoyed by others.

Things will work out how they will. I'm happy and very proud to represent my forum as a whole and I'm sticking with it because I have confidence in it and it's users.

So am I.

I'm not looking to get involved here in this argument, but I'd like to point out that no potential new member on the outside knows that, what your community is like. It's not something you can show to someone visiting the site for the first time. My forum is the same way- a lot of history, a lot of friendships, and even some working serious relationships- but it's just not something someone coming in can just KNOW.

And that's where making your forum appealing to others from an outside perspective is important, and why listening to an outsider's initial opinion is so helpful. You need to appeal to new members to get them to join. You need to make them want to join without knowing the ins and outs of your community, because that's just not something that a visitor can understand. If you want your community to grow, it's pretty important to at least consider other opinions. If someone is telling you why they would be put off from joining your site, that's valuable feedback.

I'm not a fan of your default either, personally- it's definitely nice that you have a good variety, though. I personally think that Blorange is the best looking skin that you have available, and I think it would make a more appealing default. It seems more inviting to me than the others.

Good luck with your forum.

This is definitely the feedback i was looking for. Good structural pros and cons. I LOVE Blorange. I think it's my favorite skin, it's very vibrant, bright and colorful. I really appreciate what you've said. I have a few relationships going on my site as well lol, it's just fun to see a community grow. We actually transferred from a lesser forum provider some may know about it Forumotion, they didn't have an FTP so we had to start over near the beginning of August. So it's definitely made it's turn around. I'm very pleased with it, though you are correct, I should make a selling point to make people want to join. I'll have to brainstorm a little, but your advice is most appreciated. Thanks.

To me it sounded as if you were "Negative, negative, negative" that's imo.

Sure, but I only post feedback to help people. Not to bash them
